In A - (int)Cache["ActiveBugs"] will throw an exception if there is no ActiveBugs in cache and besides int doesnt have property HasValue and Value
B - will throw an exception for the same reason as A
C - they wrote to much of "Cache.NoSlidingExpiration, CacheItemPriority.Normal, null);", but anyway the code that retrives the value from cache is executed only if the ActiveBugs exist in cache
D - exception as in A and B
So as you can see, no answer is correct here, but some time ago I googled up some post that said that in the answer A there should be int? numOfActiveBugs instead of int (they missed a question mark) and if you think about that you will indeed see that they use the numOfActiveBugs as if it was int?, not int.

Answer is a,
A. int numOfActiveBugs = (int)Cache["ActiveBugs"];
if (!numOfActiveBugs.HasValue)
{
int result = GetActiveBugs();
Cache.Insert("ActiveBugs", result, null,
DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(30), Cache.NoSlidingExpiration);
numOfActiveBugs = result;
}
ActiveBugs = numOfActiveBugs.Value;

Question. You are implementing an ASP.NET application that includes the following requirements. Retrieve the
number of active bugs from the cache, if the number is present. If the number is not found in the cache,
call a method named GetActiveBugs, and save the result under the ActiveBugs cache key. Ensure that
cached data expires after 30 seconds. You need to add code to fulfill the requirements. Which code
segment should you add?

A. int numOfActiveBugs = (int)Cache["ActiveBugs"];
if (!numOfActiveBugs.HasValue)
{
int result = GetActiveBugs();
Cache.Insert("ActiveBugs", result, null,
DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(30), Cache.NoSlidingExpiration);
numOfActiveBugs = result;
}
ActiveBugs = numOfActiveBugs.Value;

B. int numOfActiveBugs = (int) Cache.Get("ActiveBugs");
if (numOfActiveBugs != 0)
{
int result = GetActiveBugs();
Cache.Insert("ActiveBugs", result, null,
DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(30), Cache.NoSlidingExpiration);
numOfActiveBugs = result;
}
ActiveBugs = numOfActiveBugs;

C. int numOfActiveBugs = 0;
if (Cache["ActiveBugs"] == null)
{
int result = GetActiveBugs();
Cache.Add("ActiveBugs", result, null, DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(30), Cache.NoSlidingExpiration,
CacheItemPriority.Normal, null); Cache.NoSlidingExpiration, CacheItemPriority.Normal, null);
numOfActiveBugs = result;
}
ActiveBugs = numOfActiveBugs;

D. int numOfActiveBugs = (int?)Cache["ActiveBugs"];
if (!numOfActiveBugs.HasValue)
{
int result = GetActiveBugs();
Cache.Insert("ActiveBugs", result, null,
Cache.NoAbsoluteExpiration, TimeSpan.FromSeconds(30));
numOfActiveBugs = result;
}
ActiveBugs = numOfActiveBugs.Value;

Whats the answer?

Thanks

Answer D is wrong. The runat="server" attribute is missing in the RegularExpresionValidator. So the right answer is C.

Can anyone confirm Q55?
You are implementing an ASP.NET page that includes a text box. You need to validate values that are typed by users to ensure that only numeric values are submitted. Which control markup should you use?

I would have thought the answer would have been D:
<asp:TextBox ID="txt1" runat="server" /> <asp:RegularExpresionValidator ID="val1" enableClientScript="true" ControlToValidate="txt1" ValidationExpression="[0-9]*" ErrorMessage="Invalid Input Value"/>

According to the dump the answer is C, which is the same as D but with EnableClientScript="true" missing.

Apparently the default value is true anyway, so why would D be wrong? essentially D and C are actually going to result in the same thing?

Cheers
