Passed w/ 966. 80qs. I can confirm at least 6 were diskpart and the rest were media services (drag and drop) and additional sharepoint "point and shoots". That being said, I only studied this dump...nothing else. It's very obvious the new questions aren't scored because I'm sure I missed at least 15 of the new ones. Don't freak out, just know this dump and you'll be fine. Thanks to bobycar and others who contributed.

Took the test today. Scored 966. The dump is still very much valid. About 20 new qs. 6 qs on diskpart. Cant really remeber the rest of the new qs. It does state in the beginning that there are a few new qs that will not be marked. So am assuming they dont count towards the final score. Good luck to all those yet to take.

  • sharpE from United Kingdom - Feb 16 2012, 5:39 AM Report Spam
@Samet: the answer there is "High".
It does not need Full - if you look closer, the requirement is to write to a specific log file, not the system eventlog.
And "medium" does not qualify, as the app needs permisions to write to a file OUTSIDE it's working directory (again, check the definition of the log file).

    This question needs some clarification:

You install the Web Server (IIS) on a server that runs Windows Server 2008 R2.
You install a Microsoft .NET Framework application on a Web site that is hosted on the server in a folder named wwwroot.
The .NET Framework application must write to a log file that resides in the Program FilesWebApp folder.

You need to configure the .NET Framework trust level setting for the Web site so that the application can write to the log file.
    What should you do?

Set the .NET Framework trust level to Full for the Web site.
Set the .NET Framework trust level to High for the Web site.
Set the .NET Framework trust level to Medium for the Web site.
Set the .NET Framework trust level to Minimal for the Web site.

The stated answer selects "Medium" as the trust level. Please reference this TechNet Article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754779.aspx

After examining the article, an easy way to digest it is to ask, "Okay, what's the difference between FULL and HIGH? What rights get taken away once I bump down to HIGH? By default, HIGH CANNOT write to the event log. Restrictions get even worse as you lower the trust level and more and more items are taken away by default. Therefore, the only way you can meet the stated requirement is to use a custom trust or select FULL! There is no option for custom trust in the provided answers so I'm defaulting to FULL as the answer. Comments?

Just passed this morning in the UK... Scored 833/1000... 80 questions, 2-3 Drag&Drops, 2 Point&Shoots... I'm only studied this dump, roughly 20 new questions, I reckon most of the new questions were some kinda research questions because I didn't have a clue about the answers and I still passed... I know I got a few answers wrong from this dump, I couldn't prepare well enough for this test... So this dump alone should be enough for a PASS...

Thanks a lot everyone, and keep this site rollin'...

Took the test on 2/10. Couldn't tell you exactly how many new question there were, but it was around 20. Most of the new questions were on Windows Media Services. There were also about 5-6 questions on the diskpart command (ie: you have a RAID 5 config and need to replace a disk, what command do you run before replacing the disk). There were still a good number from this dump on the test, but you're going to have to do some extra studying on the Media stuff and need to learn all the diskpart commands.

well, I cannot tell if the new questions count or not to the final score. I made some educated guesses there, but was still guessing nevertheless...
from previous exams I took I know that if there are test-questions that are not rated this thing is notified in the pre-exam part. It might have been the case here as well, but I did not read that part, just next-next-next-start exam for me.
    I got 966, fyi.
I just wanted to share the info about the new questions. How come that is a bad thing ?

@sharpE Don't get your panties in a wad. It just seemed strange that 30 new questions popped up all of the sudden and that people knew the count was 30. If you wanted to be helpful you could have posted your score so we can evaluate if those 30 new questions were weighted in the test at all. I'm assuming by your snarky attitude that you were too butt-hurt to admit you failed. I know the mods will censor this, lol.

Here is what I read from the Microsoft 70-643 Training Kit book
boot image - a WIM file you can use to boot a bare metal computer (no OS)

capture image - a special boot image used to start a master computer (one with an OS) and upload an image of that computer to WDS

image group - it is a place where you store capture images.

Since the question reads you are trying to capture an image of a server that already has an OS, you don't need a boot image. Before you create a capture image, you need to create a place to store that image, that's why the first step is to create an image group.

    I will verify tonight.

  • Thanks be to Jesus my LORD and God from Australia - Feb 07 2012, 6:52 AM Report Spam
    @David & Tech.

The correct answer is boot. Install is **wrong**.

    As ednr said below: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/261-how-can-i-capture-an-image-using-wds/

In WDS you can either add boot image OR discover image.

The actual image/install is done after the booting, so Boot as 1st step is correct. (also note the answer in the dump - where the answer is "install", there is no "explanation" when you show answer. In the question that has the answer as "boot", when you click show answer there, an explanation from technet pops up - again Boot is correct)
  • AME from Egypt - Feb 07 2012, 6:25 AM Report Spam
    Tech you are right
    Q :
You have a reference computer named Server1 that runs Windows 2008R2.
You need to capture an image of Server1 to WDS1.
    What should you do first?
    a) Start Server1 from Windows7 installation media
    b) Add boot image to WDS1
    c) Add image group to WDS1
    d) Add install image to WDS1
answer : c) Add image group to WDS1 first after that Add boot image to WDS1

the answer in same dump in exam k (Q Build and Reorder)

but the Q: Build and Reorder:
Your network uses Multiple Activation key (MAX) licenses.
A network technician performs a Server Core installation of Windows Server 2008 R2.
During the installation, the technician dose not enter the licenses key.
you need to activata Windows Server 2008 R2 on the server.
    What should you do?
    the answer not correct maybe
    my answer :
    Run slmgr,vbs -ipk
    Run slmgr,vbs -ato
    Run shutdowm.exe /r
  • Tech from United States - Feb 07 2012, 4:15 AM Report Spam
    David,
Here is a link from Technet. Correct answer should be image group.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd363560(WS.10).aspx
It is in the second paragraph,
"To deploy .vhd images, follow the steps in this section. First, you will need to create an image group and add images to it. Then you create an unattend file and configure the server. After that, you will be ready to deploy and image. Note that configuring multicasting is optional."

First step is to create image group, then create install image.
  • Tech from United States - Feb 07 2012, 4:04 AM Report Spam
    David,
I actually believe the correct answer is image group. That is the first step before you can do anything.

Please verify correct answer. On Windows Deployment Section, item #3 and #9 are the same question with different answers.

You have a reference computer named Server1 that runs Windows 2008R2.
You need to capture an image of Server1 to WDS1.
    What should you do first?
    a) Start Server1 from Windows7 installation media

    c) Add image group to WDS1
    d) Add install image to WDS1

One question has add boot image to WDS1, the other question has add install image to WDS1.

Hey guys thanks for all your comments as I'm gonna start tackling this one. I noticed two NEW QUESTIONS being experienced. One about WDS? The other I have no idea....

Could anyone PLEASE post exactly what the questions are, and the possible answers? That way we can update the dumps more accurate as well? Thanks so much for your input it's HUGE to all of us in the same struggle! Take it easy!
