got 1000/1000 today. all the tt are valid but they are not easy as mentioned on networktut. you will have to pay more attention in the exam. the problem statement is same for all the tt that clients are not able to ping the web server except for ipv6 and hsrp. these two tts are straight forward. thanks for networkTUT and all who commented. going for security track. for any help you can contact sami_uet08@yahoo.com

TSHOOT Passed Today with 931/1000.

Got 1 MCQ , 1 D&D , 13 TT :
----

-- MCQ :

Router(config)#access-list 199 permit tcp host 10.1.1.1 host 172.16.1.1
Router(config)#access-list 199 permit tcp host 172.16.1.1 host 10.1.1.1
Router#debug ip packet 199

What would be the output shown on the console?

A - All IP packets passing through the router
B - Only IP packets with the source address of 10.1.1.1
C - All IP packets from 10.1.1.1 to 172.16.1.1
D - All IP packets between 10.1.1.1 to 172.16.1.1

-- D&D

FCAPS-model defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
ITIL- framework for it prof
TNM-network management model is the Telecommunications Standardization Sector's (ITU-T)
Cisco lifecycle-model is often referred to as the PPDIOO model

---------------------

Except EIGRP AS all TTs came.

If it is 169.x.x.x there are 4-TTs
1.ASW1 - port security (show-run ASW1 if 1/0/1 and 1/0/2 are in Vlan10 )
2.ASW1 - access vlan 10 (show-run and check ASW1 if 1/0/1 and 1/0/2 are in Vlan1, if they are. stop!)
3.ASW1 - switch-to-switch (show-run ASW1)
4.R4 - DHCP excluded (show-run R4)

If client got IP address then 2 options:
-First, if client1 can ping 10.1.1.1 not to server 209.65.200.241 (3TT) ALL IN R1

MY TRICK ON THIS ONE :

1. If sh ip BGP summary - Up/UP.. R1 - NAT (10.2.0.0)
2.If sh ip BGP summary - Nothing ..R1 - BGP (56-65)
3.If sh ip BGP summary - Active .. R1 - ACL

-Second , Client can't ping 10.1.1.1 but it can ping to 10.1.1.2) then: (1TT)
4-R1 - OSPF authentication (show-run R1 + R2)

Thirdly, if client1 cannot ping 10.1.1.1, then (4 TTs)
1. DSW1(ASW1) - vlan access map
2. R4 - Route redistribution:
3. R4 - EIGRP Passive Interface: passive interface (show-run R4)

Thanks for your supports guys .. Finally CCNP Certified !!! :D Cheers !!

One last thing, Cisco has a sample of the TSHOOT exam format here: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le37/le10/tshoot_demo.html

This sample is not material that you will find on the exam, but it is good to familiarize yourself with the format for the TTs as they will by far count for the vast majority of the exam.

Passed TSHOOT last week. Don't bother using any of the vce files for the tshoot exam, i would suggest using networktut.com for this exam as it presents the Trouble Tickets (TTs) in a much more logical manner than do the vce files. This is a first for me as I've been using vce's for a bunch of cert exams, but in this case, it's a waste of time. Also, you'll find good explanations from the users at the networktut.com site for each trouble ticket that will help you considerably.

My exam consisted of 3 MCQs, 1 D&D and 13 TTs. Each TT has 3 questions associated with it. All of the TTs use the exact same network but give you 13 seperate issues that must be identified. For each of the 13 TTs, you must first identify the switch or router that has the configuration issue, then identify the nature of the problem, then identify the solution for the problem.

Perfect method to use in preparing for this exam:
http://www.networktut.com/tshoot-ticket-1/comment-page-3#comments

Find Belal's post from the above url posted on Jan 8th, 2012 and he outlines how to effectively determine which of the possible 14 trouble tickets (I received only 13 on my exam, but there are 14 possible TTs) you are working on so as to save much of your time on this exam.

In case you don't already have it, here's a link to the official cert guide for this test: http://www.4shared.com/office/09wtd3sT/642-832_tshoot_-_kevin_wallace.html - get it while the link is still valid

Best of luck to all! Thanks to examcollection.com for your excellent site and to the folks at networktut.com and all the other "tut" sites for their help in getting me through the whole ccnp track.

Hi all, I have passed T Shoot exam with 940 today. I wouldn't not say its easy unless you know what you are doing. For everyone who are planning to write the exam please make sure you know the concept very well. All the questions were from networktut. These dumps are valid. I have only two drag and drop and one multiple choice question. I have 13 TT tickets. There were small changes in the configuration and IP addressing.
I didnt have the EIGRP AS ticket. Good luck for who are planning to take the exam.

Hello friends..i really need alot of help from u all..right now i m preparing for TSHOOT ! I am taking exam on 15th march..

I want to know the pattern of the question asked in the Trouble Ticket!

Does the trouble ticket state only the pinging from source to destination (eg:-Client 1 is not able to ping web server, & tell us to find the faulty device) OR does the TT question states the faulty device & the technology used & give us a hint about the TT being asked? (eg- Client is able to ping 10.1.1.1 but not 10.1.1.2, INITIAL TROUBLESHOOTING SHOWS THAT R1 DOES NOT HAVE ANY OSPF NEIGHBORS) ??

Does only SHOW RUN command solves every TT ?

Please please help me asap..Worried! :( :(

Thank you for your response tiredoftestwriting. But in my own case, I used ipconfig on client1, when I get an IP address range of 169.x.x.x, I assumed the problem is from ASW1. For me to know which technology the problem is related to and the solution, I tried to use sh run int fa1/0/1 and sh run int fa1/0/2 and sh int fa1/0/1 & sh int fa1/0/2, but non of these commands worked on the devices. The sh run command did not give out any tangile information about the device. I also got IP address range of 10.x.x.x which made to know the problem will be from DSWI or R4 or R2 or R1, I ping to and from each of these devices to know the actual fault device. But my problem is that of getting the actual technology to which the problem is related to as sh run did not give out any information on the devices and on R1 sh run int serial 0/0/1 did not work. My problems were on ASWI and R1. I want to know from you tiredoftestwriting if you ever used sh run int serial 0/0/1 on R1 and if the command worked on R1. I look forward for your response tiredoftestwriting. Thanks

What I mean is that the configs on the devices are different from one TT to another but they all accomplish the same thing so you just can not compare configs. The problems are the same as what are described here so you need to understand the concepts and not just memorize the configs. For example in teh EIGRP passive interface TT I was looking for a question with only 1 passive command, turns out that in order to work you only need 1 not both. So I had a TT that had no no pasive intrfaces, 1 no passive interface, 2 no passive interface and some with no passive default...You just can not compare configs to see what is different anymore.

Dear Colleagues,
I appeal to you all again to please make comments on this discussion below because I want to know whether I am wrong or not. Just tell me if you guys have used sh run int ... and sh int .. commands during the test and if these two commands work on the exam.

I forward this discussion to you to help me out about your suggestion and contributions. I wrote 642-832 exam about two weeks ago. After identifying the faulty devices using ipconfig and ping commands, the fault condition in which the technology was related to could not be ascertained since sh run int and sh int commands did not work on all routers, switches and interfaces, some of which I listed as follows:
ASW1# sh run int fa1/0/1
ASW1# sh int fa1/0/1 & sh int fa1/0/2
ASW1# sh int fa 1/0/1 & sh int fa 1/0/2
ASW1# sh run int fa 1/0/2
DSW1# sh run int fa 1/0/1
DSW1# sh int vlan10
R4# sh run int serial0/0/0.34
R4# sh run int s0/0/0/0.34
R1# sh run int serial0/0/1
R1# sh run int serial 0/0/1
R1# sh run interface serial 0/0/1
R1# sh run int serial 0/0/0.12
R1# sh int
Though the sh run command was working but this command could not show all the interfaces conditions.

I want you guys to help me out by advising me if I had used wrong commands or if those commands listed above supposed to generate outputs. I anxiously waiting for comments

Passed this test. Dumps very valid. 1 warning, the configurations were different. By that I mean if you looked at the same router in 3 diferent TT each one had a different config which made it VERY dificult to comapre configs to isolate the trouble. But if you have the concepts and know the TT you can still pass, I made 900+.

Hi guys! Passed with 1000 using this dump and the Boson Exam Environment. The drag'n'drops and MC questions were different, but the TT were exactly the same as in this dump. For more info, visit http://www.networktut.com/ where you find all the TT. Good luck!

No, i have about 4 new questions not included on this file.
I mean if ur choice R1, on any ticket u'll find the same answers for R1 , that mean the choices for Q2&Q3 on each ticket are depending on the answer for the first Q1.
So u have take care for 1st Q1, it should be true.

Hi,
thanks God.I passed 890/1000.
Thanks Peter for your help. almost all questions are up to date.
really it's very difficult exam, i spend all the 2 hours to finish.
Note: please don't try to choose the first choice if u r not sure it's a true choice, because the next 2 choose question are depending on it (first choose question) and their answers will change depending on the choice answer for the first question.

Thanks

I passed the exam 3 hours ago and the dump is still valid.
But DON'T too rely on this dump, because

1. 2 tickets are missing when comparing with networktut (DHCP Range & EIGRP Passive Interface)

2. In real exam, there are 6 MC answers available which 2 more MC answers than the dump. And those extra MC choices are similarly with the real answer.
Very confused.

3. Dont memorize the exact answer, some minor changes had been made by CISCO (i think), they may present the answer in other words. So you must understanding the answer rather memorize them

To ensure you will pass the exam, read the tips & comment in networktut. Very useful

Go to networktut and read through all the remarks people had(study remarks to every questions) and learn/memorize short version, then you can easily eliminate the questions one by one on the exam knowing how many left with what problems

one of the questions which is to resolve client connectivity for dhcp and ftp has the wrong answer, the dump has as the correct answer;

issue switchport trunk allowed vlan10,200 on interface portchannel13 and 23 on ASW1

This is wrong as it only allows vlan10 & 200 and removes the vlan's 1- 9.

The correct answer is either;
Change vlan assignment on the ports to vlan 1
or
issue switchport trunk allowed vlan **add**10,200 on interface portchannel13 and 23 on ASW1 (if this is an option in the answers).

2 or 3 tickets were really strange, because i could not choose the right answer after i found the problem. For instance Vlan fliter test1 on DSW1 was a problem, but there was no offered soultion in the answers for DSW1, and i found the answer on ASW1 although there was no Vlan filtering on ASW1 neither was ASW1 a problem.
Also there was some addition to the toplogy, and now you have not only eigrp 10 between DSWs and R4, there is also RIPng named RIP_ZONA, there is a gree tunneling between R4 and R3, and some other smaller changes, but ip addressing remains the same

Hi Everyone,

Today I did the exam and got 986, lol I passed, they exam is very very easy, just stay clam and chill, you have soo much time to do it, so dont ever rush, just take it easy.everything is the same as mentioned on this site

Some of the configuretion is a bit tricky but you can easily find out the mistake.

I got 3 MC (1 new MC) and got 100% in Troubleshoot may be 1 got the new MC wrong, if not I could have got 1000.

Anyways all the best and thx everyone for their posts and support.

Take Care,
Ken

Dump is 100% I just passed this morning 1000/1000. Also make sure you visit networktut.com.

My strategy (from Networktut.com) for TSHOOT tickets

Open CLT1 - do Ipconfig
1. no IP address or receive 169.xx.xx.xx (4 Tickets here)
ASW1 - Access VLAN, Trunking, Port Security
R4 - DHCP excluded
2. Search unique questions
R2 - IPv6 (check the question with showing the IPv6 address and this is the only question showing the IPv6 question)
DSW1 - HSRP (sh run - you can see the tracking command there and it is the only question have the tracking command)
3. receive IP address (10.2.1.3), can't ping 10.1.2.254 (Gateway) from CLT1
DSW1 - VLAN ACL
4. receive IP address (10.2.1.3), can't ping 10.1.1.2 (R2 to R1 interface) from CLT 1
R4 - Passive interface, EIGRP AS no., Redistribution (wrong route map name)
5. receive IP address (10.2.1.3), can't ping 10.1.1.1 (R1 interface) from CLT 1
R1 - OSPF Authentication
6. receive IP address (10.2.1.3), can ping 10.1.1.1 (R1 interface) from CLT 1
R1 - NAT (sh ip bgp summary - can see peering, sh run - no VLAN 10)
R1 - BGP (sh ip bgp summary - no peering establish, sh run - wrong neighbor address)
R1 - ACL (sh ip bgp summary - no peering establish, sh run - no permit the 209.65.200.224 0.0.0.3)

If you can remember this you will pass the test with no issues!

I failed today with 725points.Most of the questions ware the same but not all. During the test the problem with the network occured and the connection was lost. I managed to finish TT7. I started 8 and everything looked Ok, but TT9 was weird. I could find the problem, because PC1 could ping the WebServer, so there were no errors in the configuration. I showed it to the lady from the Examintion Centre. TT10,10 were OK, but TT12 again something weird. I could ping WebServer from PC1 but not from PC2. From PC2 ping couldn't leave R1. There was no entry on R! to block the trafic from PC2. The ACL in NAT was to permit from 10.2.1.3 (PC1) and 10.2.1.4(PC4)-??? The last one TT13 also weird. ON DSW1 there were VACL so I thought there will be no vlan filter XXX vlan-list 10 like in the answers I found here (and it was the only reasonable answer), but this answer was not assigned to DSW1, but I found it in ASW1 which is Layer 2 switch and you can't configure VACL on it I wrote the trouble ticket to Pearson V about it. Or maybe I did somethin wrong with the above Trouble Tickets. Any suggestions?

one my friend last week took the exam as he said, try to know all tickets from networktut.com and also D&D an mcq also from networktut.com.

he said that if you know problems at tickets from dumps you can easily find the problem in the real exam by using show, trace, ping commands.

Ahmad from Turkey

Thx a lot bro for your kind advice and info.

One of my frd did the Troubleshoot exam last Sept 2010 and he said all the Question are asking the same thing and we have find by ourselves where is the fault, he said that all the Questions were asking :

The implementation group has been using the test bed to do a 'proof-of-concept' that requires both Client1 and Client2 to access the WEB Server at 209.65.200.241. After several changes to the network addressing, routing schemes, DHCP services, NTP services, layer 2 connectivity, FHRP services, and, device security, a trouble ticket has been opened indicating that Client 1 cannot ping the 209.65.200.241 address.

So there is no clue where is the fault from the Question, we have do use the Show commands on every ticket to find the fault..is this correct seems kind of hard and looks like we have to memorise the 13 tickets from the DUMP by Heart.

Anyone can give some ideas or those who has taken the exam pls share with us.

Thx a lot,
Dave

hi dave,

question in every ticket start with "Client 1 is able to ping 10.1.1.2 but not 10.1.1.1." and does not tell you about anything about the problem or any clue about it.

only hsrp and ipv6 ticket questions have this clues in the questions.

all other tickets start with same question "Client 1 is able to ping 10.1.1.2 but not 10.1.1.1."

and you have to find out where is the problem by yourself.

but do not afraid of that.

know all the issues which can cause the problem from the dumps.

and start with the client check first ipconfig of the client. if client has correct ip adres then try to ping its default gateway and continue like that.

if any ping gives fail ok stop there and check that device which ping does not response to you.

believe me this exam is not as much as scary like people talk about.

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone please kindly help me:

I want to know that in the Exam are the Questions asked the same as per the DUMPS (I mean the state of the Question) for the 13 tickets, for example:

Troubleshooting Ticket 1

QUESTION NO: 1
Following ticket consists of a problem description and existing configuration on the
device.

Trouble Ticket Statement:
Client 1 is able to ping 10.1.1.2 but not 10.1.1.1. Initial troubleshooting shows that
R1 does not have any OSPF neighbors or any OSPF routes

Troubleshooting Ticket 2

QUESTION NO: 1
Following ticket consists of a problem description and existing configuration on the
device.

Trouble Ticket Statement
HSRP has been configured between DSW1 and DSW2. DSW1 is configured to be
active router but it never becomes active even though the HSRP communication
between DSW1 and DSW2 is working.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

My point here is that in the Question 1 they say that "R1 does not have any OSPF neighbors or any OSPF routes" so if they ask like this we already know the issue is OSPF.

Sorry, I am confused, can anyone pls kindly help me.
