Passed with a 9XX on April 1st. 9tut is awesome for the SIMS. I got the Frame Relay in the CCNA Simulations section - Need to use the show interface ** command to see the individual interface information. I also received the VTP Sim. Studied all the ICND2 sections questions from 9tut and also used ExamCollection.com Anonymous.247q.vce. Studied about 8hrs a day for 2 weeks. Thank You to all who contribute to this site.

A word of caution! I went through the Cisco Academy, and I have been hitting in the 90's on this dump. But I was worried that I might just be memorizing the answers. So I found this book at my local library:

CCNA Practice Questions : Jeremy Cioara, ISBN-13 978-0-7897-3714-4

The nice thing is that it comes with a CD and a test engine you can install, then return the book and the tests work just fine without the disk, so there is nothing to buy. You can set it for ICND 1, ICND 2, or both and it explains the answers you got wrong. I just gave it a try for a practice exam and I only got 58%. None of the questions there were questions I seen here. But that is the point. All of the questions were perfectly valid and since they are different, you have to think about the concepts, not just the answers.

I am adding this resource to this dump, hitting at least one test from each every day for the next two weeks until my voucher gets here. Since it cost you nothing, I strongly recommend you consider adding this resource to your study regimen.

@Alex, Fleshwound, Pinkman, Rafaqat: Congrats on the pass!!!

Since this exam is valid, yet seems that it has some formatting errors (graphics missing on some questions, poorly categorized, etc., I am going to upload a modified/improved version later today with the following improvements:

1. All multiple choice questions will be in Exams A through D.

2. All hotspots/sims/labs will be in Exam E (You can just select the answer 'A' when you know you have the hotspot/lab/sim correctly, so as to make grading yourself much easier)

3. The three sets of questions that had graphics missing are now corrected and have their own exam/section. 5, 5, and 4 questions, respectively. These will be contained in exams/sections F, G, and H.

4. No answers have been changed. The test is simply organized better and has complete graphics now to make it an even more effective study tool. This also makes it much easier to categorize questions, and to grade your progress as you go.

I will upload it as Cisco.passguide.640-816.v2012-10-13.by.HeavyMod.vce

Big congrats to all who passed, and special thanks to Alex for keeping the faith, and keeping us posted.

HUGE thanks to Examcollection, 9tut, Jeremy from CBT, Wendell Odom, and Todd Lammle.

Enjoy!

OSPF and Frame Relay Hotspot were in my two exams as well as the VPT Sim ip ..29 Default Gateway ..30 had to use ..31

Passed with 974. I learned and studied the dumps and 9tut. Thanks greatly, don't know what I'd do with you 9tut. I did actually learn not just memorize though. Got the usual VTP, OSPF hotspot, and Frame Relay. A couple new questions on my test, but not too hard to figure out. I think there was a typo on the Frame Relay as it was asking about an IP address that didn't exist in the sh run, but it was only one question.

Can someone please explain to me how C can be the correct answer? I don't see a correct answer for this.

The network administrator is asked to configure 113 point-to-point links. Which IP addressing scheme best defines the address range and subnet mask that meet the requirement and waste the fewest subnet and host addresses?

A - 10.10.0.0/16 subnetted with mask 255.255.255.252
B - 10.10.0.0/18 subnetted with mask 255.255.255.252
C - 10.10.1.0/24 subnetted with mask 255.255.255.252
D - 10.10.0.0/23 subnetted with mask 255.255.255.252
E - 10.10.1.0/25 subnetted with mask 255.255.255.252

These folks who have been commenting that they've failed the exam and the exam has changed are obviously trying to memorize these dumps, and if an IP changes, or the questions become rearranged, they panic and think it's all been changed. There are 22 current D&D questions on these dumps for the past 2 years. Again, right before retirement of these exams, why would Cisco pay several CCIE's to rewrite these questions and make new ones? I think we may have on person here using a proxy address to make it look like several different people saying questions has changed to worry everyone else. I have checked with other sources as well, and so far all other sites say this dump is valid 90% combined with 9tut. I can understand that Cisco changes small things around, but I doubt they changed half the test completely.

Hi Guys,

Score 748/1000 - Minimum score to pass is 825/1000

Only one Sim, VTP with different IP addresses. If you know subletting it will be easy.

About 5 different drag and drops that I never sow in any of the dumps or 9tut.com

About 2 new Hot Spot that I never sow in any of the dumps or 9tut.com

About 5 new questions that I never sow in any of the dumps or 9tut.com

I took the ICND2 exam yesterday in the US and got confused with some questions (12). I have study 2 dumps, this one and the one for Daniel, I also study the CCNA book by Lammle, CBT Nuggets and 9tut.com. There are questions that I haven't see in any of the dumps or even 9tut.com. My advise is that don't be afraid about the exam, study, study, study, learn the concepts very well. Another thing, don't take the exam until you score 98% or more on all the dumps and 9tut.com. I am getting prepare to take the exam again next week, good luck to you all.

Guys (and Gals if you are out there) I am in the the official Cisco Academy at a local trade school. At least one person ever other week takes these tests. So far, no one has run screaming and crying. I know the instructor and they would have told us if "Bob said the world has come to the end".

That being said, every day since last weekends software upgrade, the Cisco site has been warning us that we only have XXX days (currently 109) to finish our training and get our certificates because CCNA 5 is coming. So it is conceivable that the two gentlemen got a batch of evaluation questions, but those would not have counted.

It is my opinion, for what it is worth, that is very unlikely that Cisco would have changed the test so much when it is going to be retired in just over three months anyway.

@Anon

I scheduled mine on the 20th instead of the 18th. Figured I'd go through the CCNA section of 9tut as well and make sure I'm not missing anything. I'm paying for this out of my own pocket and I work part time so it's a lot of money for me. 2 more days may also give me more feedback from people who took the exam. I'm still taking it 6 days before you, so I'll let you know how it went. 99% of people in the past year have said this dump is valid so I think we're safe!

Another thing to consider: Pass4sure, who makes their bread and butter on these things - hasn't updated since Jan 30: http://www.pass4sure.com/640-816.html
Since they offer a money back guarantee - which would be a huge hassle for them if every client of theirs since the Jan 30 update suddenly started failing in mass numbers - One would think they would have an updated dump/exam already. I could be wrong, just trying to think about this logically.

@Alex:

I agree with your logic. What are the odds that Cisco changes an older exam that extensively, yet that abruptly? For what it's worth, I don't plan on rescheduling.

Look at the way the posts complaining about the dump are worded. Makes you wonder about the poster's ability to understand the material/study the dump.

TL/DR: Until this dump is confirmed as outdated, I'm going on my scheduled date. I think you should too, and if whoever takes the exam before then can keep us all posted, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think it is right Tito.

The BID is a combo of the switch prio and the MAC address. As switch c and d have the lowest prio, one of them will become the root switch. As the prio is equal, the mac address is taken into account. Since the value 2424 is lower than ABAB, switch d becomes the root switch.

If anyone disagrees, please elaborate.

Passed 930/1000. I found this dump to be 95% accurate except for a couple things: OSPF sim I had two different questions than what was on here or 9Tut. Also for the Frame Relay sim, all names and IPs were changed but concept was exactly the same. I also had the hotspot, VTP sim, and a few drag and drops that were exactly the same as in this dump. I used this dump, 9Tut, CBT Nuggets, and the official Cisco books by Wendell Odom to prepare. About a year all together of studying off and on for both ICND1 and ICND2. So glad to have this finally over with.

Hey Dan, Yes you can ping the interface, but for a packet to a different subnet, the pc needs to sent the packet to it's default gateway. If no default gateway is configured on the PC the packet will be dropped. It has to go through the gateway. Pinging computers/routers on the same subnet does not require a default gateway to be set.

I passed today, similar comment to anon & in OZ as well, got OSPF, FRAME-RELAY, VTP and drag & drop access-list. Not much time either, 1h:15m for 45 questions. If you do not know your IPv6, you will die, lots of ipv6 questions.

Exam A, Q36. I think the answer should be A. The output shows HostA successfully pinging its gateway, so how can it be incorrect? Am I seeing it wrong?

Passed with 930. Dump 90% valid. Had VTP sim with different numbers. Had frame relay hotspot with different numbers/questions. But also had a NEW OSPF hotspot with 4 questions. Can't remember exactly

One question was how many networks will be show in a routers routing table after convergence.

One question about applying or preventing load balancing (choose two of many)

One about the router ID (there was no loopback and 4 connected networks).

Can't remember last one.

Also I had a new drag and drop ACL question where you had to drag which connections would be permitted and denied. But it was pretty easy and as long as you understand ACL it will be very simple.

Hi.. I have taken & cleared 640-816 ICND2 today.

I used ICND2 Wendell Odom. Gone through all 5 Exams of Cisco.passguide.640-816.v2012-10-13.by.Anonymous.247q.vce.. It was really helpful. Almost 60% questions with minor changes appeared. As Neo quoted, if ur fundamentals are strong its easy to take and clear.

Hi,
Just passed the exam today. I used CCNA from Todd Lammle and 9tut.net and 9tut.com and of course examcollection.com - thank youuuuu.
This dump is 70-80% valid and in addition I used Cisco selftestengine 640-816 v2012-08-29 by Peyton 525q.vce plus Cisco certkey 640-816 v2012-08-10 by Dillon 235q.vce. Definitely will recommend to go through 9tut website section for ICND2 and CCNA section and review all the questions.
And then you will be ready to go ;)
Good luck guys

Just passed with a 944. My test had the VTP sim on it but it's simple. You show run on one switch to obtain the VLAN1 ip and subnet mask, ip default-gateway address. Run show vtp status to capture the VTP domain name so you can configure the other switch by creating the VLAN1 interface, assigning it an IP address (mine was 1st avail address) ; configure the subnet mask and ip default gateway. Then configure the vtp domain and mode status. That was all there was to it. Then I did have several other sims including the frame relay SIM but don't waste your time memorizing the answers because the SIM on test is a completely different config/answers, etc. Seems like I had lots of subnet questions even though they hammered that with ICEND1. Also recall several drag n drop SIMs. And there were only 43 questions (some questions have several inside of them to bring the total number up but still) I started to get a little bit nervous as the time dwindled down quickly but I made it and grateful to have my life back. Good luck everyone!

Hi!
I have found solution that works for me regarding the error message: External exception C0FB007F! It seems that the problem was in wine application. I have set Windows Version value under Applications tab in Configure Wine application to Windows XP and it works fine. Also I have tried to set it to Windows 2003 and it is ok, but it doesn't work with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 setting. I hope that I helped to those who have the same issue.

An update was released for VCE and now I was able to open the file successfully, finally!! Thanks.this looks pretty much like the exact same dump that has been out for months. The last time I attempted the test in the summer I would say the dump was 85% accurate. Use this, CBT Nuggets and 9tut and you should be good to go. I'm going to attempt to re-take this test in the next couple weeks.I failed by only a few points, so pissed!!
