I have realised that there is now a new version of actual tests.

Cisco 640-864 : Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions Exam (DESGN) v2.1 334 Questions & Answers Updated: Aug 27,12

I do not think there is any 100% actual dump like the CCNA topic has.
You can study this dump, you can study another one - there is no any matter.

You still need to study study-guides/cert-guides as well for positive acomplishing this exam.

SoulmasteЯ is right. The dump is still valid, but i've also got 50% of new questions, which are not on the dump.

2 new quesitions which i remember (not in detail)

What is NAC Profiler responsible for?
A. verify IPSec authentication
B. automaticly create a user profile based on username and group
C. Dynamically discover, identify, and monitor all network-attached endpoints
D. (don't remember this one)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps8464/index.html

what is the right order of getting information in the design process?
A: Network Documentation, Network Audit, Netflow, staff input
B: Netflow, Network Documentation, staff input, Network Audit
C: Staff input, Network Documentation, Network audit, Netflow
D: Nework Audit, Staff input, Netflow Network documentation.

This means that if you can pass this dump with the 100% result and you are really undestand all answers on it's questions (means you're not just a monkey-like dumper who studying answers only) you can pass this exam without any problems.

Hi All.

Passed a few hours ago.
956/1000.

Exam was really annoying: so much useless information in the CertGuide.. Well, all this is in the past for now, so leading to the ARCH for the CCDP.

Some words about dump.
It is valid, BUT:
1) 2 DDs from this dump had a fully changed view. One with netflow, rmon, snmp and cdp, another with http/email, security, budget, ip phone - it has not only radical visual changes, but also added one bar with the "application constrains".
2) 2DDs was not from this dump. DSTUT also does not menton them.
3) about 10 questions was NOT from this dump.
In fact, almost half of my 55 questions WAS NOT covered by this dump.

Well, I still think that this dump is 100% valid, but if you want to pass this exam well, you should NEVER use this dump only.

I STRONGLY recommend to study at least the 640-864 DESIGN v4 CertGuide if you do not have the real-job experience.

Took the test earlier this week and failed unfortunately. I have a bunch of friends who passed using this test just earlier this year and stated that this was the best one and that the questions on the exam were almost word for word. Well it seems that the test has been updated because I only saw about 13 or so of these questions on my test. I had 10 drag and drops on my test. There were only 5 drag and drops from this test and there were 5 that were not.

I noticed that some were just reworded but most of them were just completely new questions.

"In terms of network security in the system life cycle, the business needs are a key area to consider. Business needs define what the business wants to do with the network."

Passed last week with 92% score! Thanks to this dump with 'wut''s corrections, dstut.com, CCDA 4th Edition Study Guide and the DESGN 2.1 Module Questions on Cisco Learning Network. Had 14 DnD's. The one which was most different described as best as I can recall below:

Drag N Drop The Following Based Upon the PPDIOO design methodolgy 'identifing customer network requirements':

Left Column Right Column
========= =========
Email+HTTP Identify Network Applications
IP Telephony + Video Identify Network Services
Budget Define Organizational Constraints
Application Compatibility Define Technical Constraints
Security Define Technical Goals

Hopefully remembered correct and I have listed them in the order I think was correct but I really struggled with Application Compatibility and Security..which one is a Goal and which is a Constraint?

Anyway I passed so happy days and thanks to meh123,wut and dstut!

"It turns out since I already have a CCNP that I only need the 642-874 before I have the CCDP so I won't be taking the 640-864"

You need both a valid CCNA and CCDA to certifiy as a CCDP! Or a valid CCIE will suffice as well.

38. Which describe best practice for Cisco outdoor wireless mesh networks? (Select three.)
a. RAP implemented with 20 or fewer MAP nodes
b. RAP implemented with 20 to 32 MAP nodes
c. Mesh hop counts of 4 or fewer
d. Mesh hop counts of 8 to 4
e. Client access via 802.11b/g and backhaul with 802.11a

@wut.. Where is 'best practice' coming from if the CCDA Cert Guide reccommends 20 and states upto 30? If I have a headache and chemist recommends 2 aspirins but not more than 6. Is the best practice to take 0 to 2 tablets even if the document says 2? If I only take 1 I might still have a headache. Like I do understanding some CCDA questions :)

  • Jul 12, 2012
  • wut
  • Sweden
  • Jul 12, 2012

@AB. Concerning B35 the best practice is to use no more than 20 MAP's per RAP. However up to 32 MAP's are supported. Makes sense right? :)

  • Jul 12, 2012
  • AB
  • United Kingdom
  • Jul 12, 2012

wut, B35 is confusing as the answer in the VCE includes 20 to 32 MAP nodes.

If you look at page 182 of the CCDA 640-864 Official Cert Guide (4th Edition) the Mesh Design Recommendations quotes the following:
' For best performance, 20 MAP nodes per RAP is recommended. Up to 32 MAPs is supported per RAP.'
The way that is worded makes it look like the VCE answer is correct but the wording is not great...but it does not reccommend fewer than 20!

What do you think people?

wut, none of the particular questions you've mentioned I've changed from the Actual Tests source PDF. I'm starting to think Actual Tests has a lot of questions wrong on many of their exams. You can trust the wording and the question but not the answer at least 5-10% of the time.

I never ended up taking this but I'm happy that I was able to animate the drag and drops for those who are. It turns out since I already have a CCNP that I only need the 642-874 before I have the CCDP so I won't be taking the 640-864. Good look to those of you who decide to take this test.

Have gone through A to C and found some incorrect answers.

A6
Which of these statements is true concerning the data center access layer design?

A) The access layer in the data center is typically built at Layer 3, which allows for better shaping of services across multiple servers.
B) With Layer 2 access, the default gateway for the servers can be configured at the access or aggregation layer.
C) A dual-homing NIC requires a VLAN or trunk between the two access switches to support the dual IP address on the two server links to two separate switches.
D) The access layer is normally not required, as dual homing is standard from the servers to the aggregation layer.

Correct answer: C

A48
The enterprise campus core layer has requirements that are unique from the distribution and access layers. Which of the following is true about the core layer?

A) The core layer provides convergence using Layer 2 and Layer 3 services and features.
B) The core layer provides high availability to support the distribution layer connections to the enterprise edge.
C) The campus core layer is optional.
D) The core layer requires high performance to manage the traffic policing across the backbone.

Correct answer: B

B29
Given a VoIP network with these attributes:

Codec: G.711
WAN bandwidth: 768Kbps
Packet Header: 6 bytes
Payload: 160 bytes
CRTP: No

How many calls can be made?

A) 7 calls
B) 13 calls
C) 8 calls
D) 9 calls
E) 11 calls

Correct answer: D

Calculation in the explanation is wrong.
Correct calculation would be

voice packet size = L2 header + IP/UDP/RTP header + voice payload
6B + 40B + 160B = 206B x 8 = 1648b

voice pps = codec bitrate / voice payload
64kbps / (160 x 8) = 64000 / 1280 = 50pps

voice bw = voice packet size x voice pps
1648 x 50 = 82400bps = 82,4kbps

Number of calls = WAN bw / voice bw
768 / 82,4 = 9,32 = 9 calls

For this test, I've taken out the duplicates, fixed the answers that were wrong and created/animated the drag & drops (which seemingly no one has done for this exam yet). As far as I know, this should be the most complete VCE yet for the 640-864 and as of now is accurate and should help you pass the exam.
