Rachel, download the free viewer at the top right of the page. It does require a purchase to see beyond a few questions. Worth the $30 or so. This is great testing review material. Others are posting most of the questions are word for word. know the material and give yourself 3 months of studying. Consider the Exam Cram book by David L. Prowse. It's excellent. Do all the Exam Cram Quizes and the Pearson Vue Simulator which is included with the 6th edition. Most people just want to take a test, but forget they also need a job interview then actually need know what to do for the job! Take your time especially if you are new to IT. The cert is a piece of paper that only get's you in the door. The rest is up to experience.

I can't figure out what software I need to view the document - I downloaded a few "viewers" but they weren't working. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? Are there any free options or do I need to purchase something? Thanks in advance - I failed my first time around & it sounds like a lot of people have been successful so I really would like to use this.

Scored 900/900. Piece of cake. Caitto dump is valid! I studied using many of these dumps, Meyers, Messer, Exam Cram, ExamPrep and an A+ Simulator I found. Easy to find if you Google it. Has 4000 Questions AND 20 Drag-and-Drop Simulator Questions. Dozens of graphics to visually ID motherboard components, video connectors, network connectors, you name it. The guy's feedback is totally off the chart. Took me about two weeks to master it, but well worth the time!

ques2: 16 parts on a motherboard. KNOW USB, Fan, CPU connectors

Passed in the low 700s. Maybe 20+ questions out of 70 were from this. Recommend watching the Professor Messer videos on top of studying this. Know what you should put into a home theater, gaming rig, and thick client. Know what VGA, HDMI, s-video, etc. connectors look like. Know the appropriate bays for hard drives when configuring RAID (I'm really not sure what I was doing with that. I just put the fastest going from top to bottom). Do not rely on this dump alone, but still use it.

Plan to take test (220-801) next week. Any help on what type of sims to expect would be great. I'm sure these have changed. Did anyone have any sim questions about setting up a RAID array? Any motherboard sims, like naming the parts of an mobo, ATX or MicroSTX board? Any questions about which RAM modules to use, DDR3, DDR2, and how to recognize the difference? Thanks in advance. The questions on the test were similar, and sims were
build gaming, HTPC and thick client, 5 items in each configuration (CPU, ram, PSU, special part, hard drive). Drag and drop appropriate connector types: VGA, serial, HDMI, and RJ 6 or something. The one about hard drives and appropriate bays for them. Had about 5 or 8 question not from this dump. Passed with 770, and by the way it was only 71 question! The dump is still valid as of April 23. All but 2 or 3 questions were from the dump and the sims were as mentioned in earlier comments. 1st sim was to set up an IDE redundant array from a selection of 4 different drives (Select 2 of the 7200rpm IDE drives), 2nd sim was the Motherboard parts, 3rd sim was to build 2 different systems given a list of parts (Home Theatre, Thick, Gaming PC). Passed with a 875/900. Pretty straight forward fare for anyone working in IT already. Thanks to the uploader.

I wrote my exam yesterday., passed with 900. My advise to you guys, study. Just take these dumbs as practise exams and only depend on them (as you can have suprises on your test). The exam has been updated, and new question were introduced. Recommended study materialos:CompTIA A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, 8th Edition (Exams 220-801 & 220-802), CompTIA A+ 220-801 and 220-802 Authorized Exam Cram, Proffesor Messer Videos (this guy is good), CBT Nuggets 2012 Update.

If you really like IT, and planning to build on your IT career, study, study, and study. All the best on your test (you can ask any question you have). I will writing soon my 220-802, aswell.

Special thanks to examcollection.com for this great site, keep up the good work. :-)

Took today. 815 out of 900. I just wanted to pass. So finished in 30 mins. 80% were from here. same Home Theater, Gaming, Thin Client / RAID / Motherboard components simulation. Some questions were new. One I can guess was, six pin power connector for what? should be for graphics card. As everyone said, if you do all of the dumps you will pass for sure. You don't need any other preparation at all. Thanks to all!

It works! Got 880/900. But three simulations and two questions were present. The simulation includes identification of components in motherboard, identifying different types of ports (like HDMI, DVI, etc.) and fixing suitable HDDs in suitable drive bays.

The two questions are:
1. How to dispose CRT monitors?
2. Which of the following connectors is round in shape? BNC, RJ45, USB, HDMI

Rest of the questions are same. Practising only this will definitely make a pass.

I just want to say thank you Caitto! I passed the 801 about a week ago now with a 900/900. You MUST know your stuff, but using this dump is an amazing resource. I would strongly advise against someone that lacks computer knowledge to simply memorize these and pass the exam(s) which is totally possible. If you have no real world experience that will hurt you after obtaining a job based off your A+ cert you gained via brain dumps, etc without knowing the actual material. I take my 802 tomorrow. Thanks again! VALID word for word. 3 SIMS people here have noted. 3-4 new questions.

First and foremost, thank you kindly to the uploader: Caitto.

Took the test in Toronto, Canada on 03/06/13 and scored 890/900. Studying this dump is single handedly the best exam prep you'll find. All of the exam questions I got were in this dump except for rougly 5 which were all just variations of questions found here.

Got 4 simulations:

1: Picture of a motherboard that needs to be labelled with: PCI, PCIx1, PCIx4, PCIx16, RAM, CMOS, Front Panel Jumpers, IDE, Floppy, Sata, USB, CPU, Main Power Plug, CPU Power Plug, CPU Fan Plug.

2: Build a computer for redundancy using the least amount of IDE drives for maximum efficiency. You will get 4 drives to choose from, 2 sata, 2 ide. I choose to use 2xIDE 7200RPM.

3: Build 3 computers: Home Theatre PC, Thick Client, Gaming PC. An exact amount of parts will be given. You should know what they all are by this point so the formula is essentially give the highest performance to the gaming CPU with liquid cooling as the additional option. Give the second best performance and largest hard drive to the HTPC with TV Tuner as the additional option. Give the leftovers to the thick/thin client.

4: Last simulation came later and was to identify the Range, Frequency, and Typical media for RF, IR, Bluetooth. You're given a selection of answers that are drag and drop like the other sims.

71 questions total and 4 sims. Best of luck to everyone.

(optimal hdd selection, video ports, motherboard and gaming/thick/home entertainment pc). You can easily study this dump and pass. I plan on training students to pass which is why i studied in addition to using the dump. However, If your goal is to simply pass. This is what you need.

Passed today

some new questions but still easy to answer

Had 4 sims
one was configure a gaming, htpc, and thin client. This was a little more complicated but the general idea was to setup the HTPC with an HTPC case, TV Tuner, and midrange graphics/cpu/ram. The Gaming computer was a full tower ATX case, the best hardware (Phenom AMD CPU 3ghz in this case) and a special cooling system. The thin client was very basic with 2gb memory and the remaining lower end hardware + Windows 7 32bit Pro.

second was to drag n drop motherboard parts

third was match plugs and Connectors, HDMI (19 Pins-Type A) S-Video, VGA, Serial.

and last one Build up RAID with higher performance and lowest drive possible. There were 3 bays to use and there were 4 options of HDD to choose 15000, 10000, 7200, and 5400 rpm. You can use the same type of HDD more than once but the bay can accommadate only one HDD. I choose SAS 15000 rpm and put it on 2 bays for Raid 0

Before u sit the exam besides doing the dump become familiar with connectors, sockets and of course all motherboard parts.

Thanks to all who contributed to this dump
Last and not least, take your time and do not rush so questions are not renewed. Give other ppl the opportunity too :)

Forgot to mention about simulation. There were 3 of them on my test;
1). Matching correct name on motherboard part (eg. ports, slots, fan, and power)

2). Build up RAID with higher performance and lowest drive possible. There were 3 bays to use and there were 4 options of HDD to choose 15000, 10000, 7200, and 5400 rpm. You can use the same type of HDD more than once but the bay can accommadate only one HDD. I choose SAS 15000 rpm on each bay. I think I might have done this wrong. What I did was RAID 5, but the question asked for lowest drive, so I guess they want you to do RAID 1, which use SAS 15000 rpm only 2 bays. Correct me if I am wrong.

3).Build 3 machine; CAD, Thick client with cost efficient option, and Gaming computers. Remember Gaming computer using all the best option and using SSD on storage even though it was lowest capacity at 250 GB. CAD using better CPU than Thick client with TV tuner and biggest HDD out of the three computers. Thick client use on-board graphic with Win 7 Home Basic.

I'm not sure it count as a score or not

880/900 on 1/26/2013

I got around 8 or 9 questions out of this dump. I guess it started updating new version. The sooner you take, the better you pass with no sweath.

The question I screwed up asked "What is the best solution to connect video from laptop (no HDMI port) to HD TV. The other 2 answer were completely wrong about using USB from Laptop, which was absolutely not right. The Third one was using a VGA port from laptop to VGA port in HD TV. The Fourth one was using a VGA port from laptop to HDMI adapter. I picked the Third because I though it was easy to configure, but I think the Fourth one was the right one. This question was too simple and I missed it.

The Second new question I remember asked something like a DSL service provided a static ip to SOHO network sharing 5 workstations locally. How should a technician config a router to allow every computer connect to the internet? The answer would be NAT

The Third new question I could think of asking about A technician needs to access a remote Service Terminal server. The server IP address is 192.168.1.20 and a local router is 192.168.1.10 How should he configure a port forwarding to access terminal?

A) Enable port 443 ip address 192.168.1.10

B) Enable port 443 ip address 192.168.1.20

C) Enable port 3389 ip address 192.168.1.10

D) Enable port 3389 ip address 192.168.1.20

The answer is D

Passed with 900. This dumb is legit. Besides the questions in the dump I had 3 simulations. 1. Identify the parts of a motherboard. 2. Build a Home Entertainment/Media computer and High Performance CAD work computer. You get only parts to build two computers and only use each part once. 3. Know the difference between Infrared (IR), Bluetooth, and Radio Frequency (RF). You need to know distance of signals, range of frequency, and most likely use. Example: Bluetooth used for cell phone ear piece, range (1 Meter) (usually class 3 bluetooth device, and 2.4 Gigahertz band frequency range. I don't think these questions counted toward test, but just in case.

Took this today. Got 100% 900/900. Every single question is word for word from this dump - no questions that were not in this dump. I got 2 simulations that this dump did not help with - you need to know all the ports on a motherboard (all pciE, hdd, fdd, power, front panel IO, cpu power, fan power, usb, sata, etc) Another simulation was speeds/distances/frequencies of BT, RF, IR) - you need to read a decent prep text to know this - the answers are not in this dump) I don't think though that the simulation actually contributes to the score so no big deal anyway.
There is one mistake in this dump - 802.11g is *backwards* comparable with 802.11b and NOT 802.11n
As of today, if you can answer all questions in this dump, you WILL pass

oh and BTW, when you do the simulation question (build 3 pc's for a customer), don't assume that when you drag and the components into the correct PC rig (gaming, thick client ect) that it will auto sort, you need to put it into the correct catogory (cpu, storage, memory, power and case, special requirements. ect.)

I did the exam recently, 900 / 900. The questions and answers in this file is 100% verbatim to the real test (with the exception to the 4 simulations I got).

I did notice in this file however, there is an incorrect answer. A question asks "what standard is backwards compatible with 802.11g" The answer given in file "802.11n" is incorrect, it is"802.11b". This question came up in the exam, so please be aware if you run into this in your practice exam.

Mike - I paid for the software awhile ago for a Microsoft test and that exam was 90% accurate to the actual exam. $25 well spent for that test since for tests like A+ this is the only material you need (assuming you have some troubleshooting experience). I have not looked for any alternatives out there for this software though so I am not sure if one exists. But I do plan to use it for other exams and feel it is well worth it.

Excellent dump. Only one question was missing and honestly, I cannot remember what it was. Passed my 220-801 today (11/27/12) with a score of 871/900. I had three simulations. Connector drag n drop (know the connectors for HDMI/DVI/SVIDEO/ and VGA), RAID array where you configure with the fastest performence and fewest drives (answer was 3x 15k RPM drives in Raid0).

Third sim was to configure a gaming, htpc, and thin client.

@Ric

Yeah. Exactly what Wei Wei and James. the mobo labelling is pretty simple, if you can identify the parts then you shouldn't be writing this exam. The SOHO sim was simple basically building a basic htpc and performance pc for the office. The only tricky sim was the bluetooth/RF/IR. but once u think about it.it's pretty simple. That was the only question I had to go back and review. Hope this helps.

The 3rd simulation was a little tricky, but i managed to get it. know the differences between bluetooth, Infrared and Radio Frequency. I got perfect on this exam 900.
