I passed yesterday in Dubai with 877 , I was only studying from that Dump and I had a setup for the private cloud.two new cases in the exam also some new questions about Server App-V and minimizing the storage for DPM.

I also used the below answer for VMM fabric:

I'm just going to answer 2 most asked question from case studies in this dump.

Q1: You need to recommend a storage fabric configuration for VMM.(select 3 in order )

1- Configure the the iSCSI initiator
2- Add a storage device
3- Allocate a storage array
4- Configure a Storage array
5- Install the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target components.

Answer:( in Order )

1- Add a storage device
2- Configure a Storage array
3- Allocate a storage array

Why? Notice that the question is about configuring storage fabric in VMM not "storage device" so all configuration have to be applied in VMM server. We no need "Configure the the iSCSI initiator" in VMM server because VMM use SMS-I Provider to find and manage iSCSI storage during adding storage device to VMM. So first we need to add storage device from storage fabric and use SMS-I provider to add the storage. Then we need to configure some setting in storage array and after that we HAVE TO "Allocate a storage array" to Host group otherwise we can not create LUNs and assign it to hosts or clusters. We no need "Install the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target components" because we install Microsoft iSCSI Target only when we intend to TURN a server to SEVER STORAGE supporting iSCSI. But we no need such s storage server because we already a iSCSI storage device...Case Study says "The data center contains third-party iSCSI SAN storage devices that support an SMI-S provider".

Q2: You need to configure the storage fabric to support the deployment of the virtual machines. (the question is same as the question above but Examiner has changed the steps. because configuring storage in VMM includes several steps but he wants us to select only 3 steps)

1- Assign the storage hosts and clusters
2- Configure the iSCSI initiator
3- Allocate storage to a host group
4- Install the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target.

Answer:(in order)

1- Run the Add storage device wizard

Why? Again Notice that the question is about configuring storage fabric in VMM not "storage device" so all configuration have to be applied in VMM server. "Host Group" means a Hyper-V Host Group. So Same as question above, We need to "Run the Add storage device wizard" to add a storage to VMM server. Then we need to configure storage array and classification in real world but this action is not included here. After that we need to "Allocate storage to a host group" otherwise we can not make LUNs or use the LUNs tha has been already created in storage. And finally we need to "Assign the storage to hosts and clusters" as a LUN. So Again we no need iSCSI initiator because VMM use SMS-I Provider to find and manage iSCSI storage. and we nood to install Microsoft iSCSI Target because the Case Study says "All of the servers being considered as potential Hyper-V hosts have both locally attached storage and access to a SAN" so we no need to turn any server to a storage server.

on section C - Q6 correct answer is A (service template) not B; Q21 = B (capability), not C; Q22 - Here I am not quite sure but A (storage providers and storage devices) seems more adequate - for SMB3 I do not how to use LUN >!;
Section F - Q3 Does somebody know what means "IOL binding settings" ?! - it should be SSL; Q8 - B (Services is the point from where should start).

For the last few weeks I see that a few persons claiming they have the correct up-to-date version of the 70-247 but they won't upload it. That makes them quite an unreliable source. It's like you hiding something or what so ever. If you are claiming having the correct version be so kind to upload it.
