I have read that there is a valid dump available.. Some wrong answers but you can atleast figure that out...

Just google 70-412 new VCE certify chat... There is a sharing link there from a user called trouble4k. I have also read that the labs dump contains some new questions but its messed up on that dump... But if you verify it on aiotestking, you should be good to go... I hope this helps!

@Nort - for me, it's C. It says different processor MANUFACTURER not type. Setting the "Migrate to a physical computer with a different processor type" setting allows you to migrate when the models are different, not the manufacturer imo

You need to understand why an answer is what it is, not just memorize, because they change up the answers (and the wording on questions) on the test. Thanks for the help!

So far, I have reviewed questions 1-14, and 240 - 305 and I really only have problems with Q4, Q286. I have been editing the VCE as I go along, adding more "selectable" fields, and hyperlinking within so you don't have to go typing out long URLs...I have added a few more references, etc. It's mainly cosmetic.

I will correct answers you all think are necessary. The faster we get through this, the better. I am slowly getting through.

Again, real-world experience says that you use Set- PS commands to change existing settings.

I think the answer for Q167 is incorrect.

You shut down VM1 on Server1.
You COPY D:\VM1 to D:\VM1 on Server2.

You need to start VM1 on Server2. You want to achieve this goal by using the minimum amount of administrative effort.

Answer given is: C. From Hyper-V Manager, run the Import Virtual Machine wizard.

The VM folder was COPIED to another location not exported, so you wont be able to import the VM.

I think answer should be: B. Create a new virtual machine on Server2 and attach the VHD from VM1 to the new virtual machine.

Yes, it is required to upgrade the domain level. But in order to do that you must first remove the 2003 server. And before you can remove the 2003 server....You have to UNINSTALL AD from the 2003 Server.

So I still think the answer is still correct that the FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO (as asked in the question) is to Uninstall AD from 2003.

No, the answer is not B but A! It is asked "what should you do *first*?" Yes, the functional level has to be upgraded to 2008, but to make that, you have to uninstall all DCs older than 2008. Here, DC1 is still a 2003 server. So in order to upgrade the functional level you first have to uninstall ADDS from DC1.

Basically, always use DNSCMD first; if it errors out, NTDSUTIL is the workaround.

Lots and lots of reading on this...in the real world, I think you're very *rarely* going to see the scenario.

Q10, Q47, Q81, Q101, Q112, Q134, Q138, Q153 – All of these answers are worded the same but the answers vary each time. I am 100% sure that every VCE out there answered these incorrectly. Whoever posted that bit about “If you see questions about AD Replication, First preference is AD sites and services, then Repadmin and then DNSLINT” is a huge jackass!
The facts as we know them from the question:
1. Both DC's are in their own site.
2. DC1 is a RWDC, Global Catalog Server and a DNS Server
3. DC2 is a RODC and a Global Catalog Server
4. The DNS Server role was added to DC2 after he was made a DC.
5. Everything else is replicating fine except for DNS

The question is asking us to ensure that DC2 replicates the contoso.com zone by using Active Directory replication.

This recent technet explains the issue – “As a best practice, you should install the Domain Name System (DNS) server role and the global catalog during the installation of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). However, if you do not install the DNS server role and the global catalog, you can complete the following procedures to install them after the installation of AD DS. If you install DNS server after the AD DS installation, you must also enlist the RODC in the DNS application directory partitions. The RODC is not enlisted automatically in the DNS application directory partitions by design because it is a privileged operation. There are only two tools that can enlist a RODC in the DNS application directory partitions (dnscmd & ntdsutil) and either of these tools is listed as a valid answer for every question referenced above and neither are listed together in the same question so its always one or the other as a choice.

We ran this through the lab to verify and here is the email regarding our findings:

The answer is DNSCMD..... you need to add it to both partitions (Forest and Domain) in order to be able to start replication. You need to run it locally on the RODC and wait for replication to happen.

If you try to do it remotely (from another DC; a R/W DC), you will get an error. If that error happens, then you can use the NTDSUTIL as a workaround.

Even if you force replication after running dnscmd, it will not work immediately as the configuration partition needs to be updated first; then DNS will get replicated. You can use repadmin to force a sync AFTER you enlist the RODC in the zone.

Once you add it, any AD integrated zone will replicate to it (we even created a GlobalNames zone to try it).
