And they are respectively named Ins01, Ins02,
Ins03 and Ins04. A single database application is hosted by each instance.
All four instances should be removed to a new SQL Server failover cluster. You can see the configuration of
the four instances from the table listed below.
All the four instances are sufficiently optimized, and there are no spare CPU cycles or extra memory in the
instances.
All four databases will be hosted by the new cluster on a single virtual cluster IP address.
Since you are the technical support, you are required to set the new cluster to handle the workload of all the
database applications with the least amount of hardware resources.
From the four cluster configuration, which one should be utilized?

why it is not C ? "Two-node active/active cluster should be utilized and a minimum of 9 processors and a 25-GB memory
are
contained by each node."

In question they ask for "the least amount of hardware resources".Tuesday, June 14, 2011 11:56 PM UTCarloshttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-73310Back to the discussion that "@Lukchard from Hong Kong" initiated at May 22 2011, 9:01 PM, I think the answer would be C because I think the solution would be to force the slow queries to use only one CPU. That way those slow queries won't have CXPackets waits anymore.

Reading the link "http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2010/11/13/sql-server-reducing-cxpacket-wait-stats-for-high-transactional-database/" that @Lukchard posted in May 23 2011, 5:39 AM, I found the piece below which has to do with this scenario:

"..

Now let us see what the best practices to reduce the CXPACKET Wait Stats are.

The suggestions, with which you will find that if you search online through the browser, would play a major role as and might be asked about their jobs In addition, might tell you that you should set ‘maximum degree of parallelism' to 1. I do agree with these suggestions, too; however, I think this is not the final resolutions. As soon as you set your entire query to run on single CPU, you will get a very bad performance from the queries which are actually performing okay when using parallelism.

The best suggestion to this is that you set ‘the maximum degree of parallelism' to a lower number or 1 (be very careful with this - it can create more problems) but tune the queries which can be benefited from multiple CPU's.

You can use query hint OPTION (MAXDOP 0) to run the server to use parallelism.
.."

Based on this explanation, I think the solution for the question's scenario would be preserv the ‘the maximum degree of parallelism' to SQL Server 2008 run with multiple CPUs and set each query that experience CXPACKET waits to use only one CPU.

What do you think guys?Tuesday, June 14, 2011 6:56 PM UTLeandrohttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-73143Hi Carlos , Sorry for a long time for response.

I made my test in english. Either the majority of blogs and technet articles are incorrect or the test is flawed in deciding the correct answer. 4Q wrong for Instances, 2Q wrong Server Security, 3Q wrong for high availability, 2Q wrong for backup and recovery, 2Q wrong for moniotring, 2Q wrong for maintain and managing databases. Also the answers are more close than in the VCE. Affinity answers should no longer be in VCE. When selecting performance and monitor answers, the VCE has 1 BEST answer, but the other 3 to choose from do not belong. The answers should be correct -with just 1 being the BEST andswer for the question. The answer for CDE (or whatever) should be ADE (or whatever) The correct answer is in other vce's here and on the Net. Doesn't matter what is correct or not, the test wants ADE. good luck and you MUST know performance monitor, sysmon, data collector, dynamic events, etc. The answers are 3 of 4 correct- not like 1of 4 on the vce. Last exam was in broken English - this retake was in plain easy to read English with correct grammer and punctuation. First time sucked! reminded me of chatting with programming friends from other countries and trying to figure out what the heck they are trying to say. Also VCE English is WAY better than the 1st exam and much worst than the 2nd.Saturday, May 28, 2011 10:02 PM UTDBAhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-71269The questions are 100% correct, especially the 21 question, but the answers are wrong, i failed the exam using the R2C2's answers but they were all wrong, lets see if Sule's answer's are correct.Friday, May 27, 2011 7:58 PM UTKennyhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-71260I think the answer to 41 should be C. The two popular answers that have been debated were "Configure

manual failover role switching." and "Configure automatic failover role switching". I may be wrong but
you can refer to this link "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189852.aspx" and read "Operating
Modes" plus "Role Switching".

You administer a SQL Server 2008 instance.
You plan to design a high-availability solution by using database mirroring.
The current application includes programming logic that will retry transactions if a failover occurs.
You need to configure a strategy that will provide the minimum amount of latency for committed
transactions. What should you do?

A. Pause database mirroring.
B. Configure manual failover role switching.
C. Configure forced service role switching.
D. Configure automatic failover role switching.Wednesday, May 25, 2011 3:26 PM UTJohnnyBGoodehttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70793Took exam today. Saw two new questions out of the 50. All questions were in this dump, but just squeaked by. Two new questions were similar to the others, so no new material, just a new way of asking the same thing over and over.Tuesday, May 24, 2011 12:37 AM UTLukchardhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70707@Mariusz, Cool !!!

It is exactly the question, thanks a lot :)Monday, May 23, 2011 11:30 AM UTMariuszhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70700I think 66 D

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190984.aspxMonday, May 23, 2011 10:38 AM UTLukchardhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70678@Howard, thanks for your reply.
I think I will also choose D as the answer. I think it should be D. You would only need to add it to the queries that are taking a while as it does state some are running fast. Use it for the slow ones to speed them up. The other way will affect all queries that are being run. Anyone else got and idea?Monday, May 23, 2011 4:28 AM UTLukchardhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70651I am not sure which is the best answer..B or D?

Designing a new SQL Server instace that will support a web applicaion, the application is running on 32 nodes.
The server has 128 GB memory and 16 processor cores. These are the questions, plus about 5-10 new ones. I do not think these answers are correct. I googled and none of the new questions are around. I actually got like a zero in one area and about 10% in another!!! I actually thought I would easily pass, guess I do not know nearly as much as I thought I did. The exam was actually fun though - no like the prevous 11 or so that I've already taken.Sunday, May 22, 2011 12:27 AM UTlunatichttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70503Hi people, i passed in exam in Brazil.
I used MrE52q and 21q by Emir.
5 new q.
700/1000
* 21q many questions wrongFriday, May 20, 2011 5:37 PM UTlalahttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70425I passed exam using this exam i found all questions in the test from this dump and i select all answer in test as shown in dump but looks like most of the answer are not correct.Thursday, May 19, 2011 11:40 PM UTjohnhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70354RODRIGO,
Você conseguiu descobrir quais respostas estão incorretas???Thursday, May 19, 2011 2:02 PM UTUnknownhttps://www.examcollection.com/microsoft/Microsoft.CertifyMe.70-450.v2011-05-07.by.Haywire.73q.vce.file.html#comment-70183Passed using this dump, but barely get passing marks, Total 50 Question out of 21 from Exam D.
