Joe, you add the 500,000 + 5,000 as the company still pays the employees even if they cannot use the system.
So its 500000 + 5000 / 48 = 10580.8xxx round up 10581
So per hr it costs the company 10581
The question doesn't ask you the max cost of downtime/ rto if it did they you would multiple 10581 x 4, ( the question just asks per hr so thats all you calculate

Joe, here is how the sum is calculated
To store 200gb on Raid 10 you need 400gb of storage. ( double the head)
To store 200gb on raid 1 again you need 400gb
To store 200gb on raid 5 you need 250 gb, 50gb lost for parity
So you total 400+400+250 = 1050 x 2 (dollar amt) 2100

Well the good news is that I passed, the bad news is that it was only provisional. I received an email from EMC saying my exam, "shows anomalies that are associated with a memorized, but inaccurate exam key". I am now banned for 90days. My advice is to pass the exam (61% pass mark) but don't over achieve. A potential ghost question is, "What is prevented using RAID technology" as the answer is not clear or mentioned in the textbooks. Be careful out there...
