Just passed the Security+ with a 869 score. I spent a total of 5-6 months preparing.
This is what I did:
Read CompTIA Security+ by Glen Clarke and did the practice questions.
Read Security+ Exam Cram and did the practice questions.
Performed the Exam Cram Practice questions (additional book with a few hundred of questions)
Read Darril Gibson’s Security+ book and did the practice questions.

Also did Professor Messor videos, read items on techexams.net, and used ProProfs materials too.
The questions in ExamCollections that I used were from this pool:
1. Comptia.Actualtests.SY0-301.v2013-11-11.by.JustMe.587q.vce
2. Comptia.Actualtests.SY0-301.v2013-11-06.by.BigK.664q.vce
Study the simulations for the exam.
3. CompTIA.Actualtests.SY0-301.v2013-12-27.by.JustMe.587q.vce

I only found maybe 5 questions from the ExamCollections bank within the CompTIA exam. My suggestion is to study the concepts and know what they mean. The questions are more difficult than you think and tries to test your knowledge of the actual material.

Just took the exam. This set of questions is almost useless. Hit ratio is probably below 10%. Don't waste your time on this, try some other ones.

Still valid. Scored a 847. Used this CBT and Professor Messer. Two sims were right on. Two new sims (FW config & building security). There were a good chunk of new questions (~15-20).

Took the test today barely passed it, 779. I just came across like 5 to 7 questions From this dump, I passed cause I read the book, professor messor, some class knowledge, that's it, it had questions I never came across from this dump, tricky questions, just do your best.

I passed on 12-21-2013 with a score of 847. I used these dumps and Darrill Gibson Security+ Book. I noticed maybe 9 questions from the posted dumps. The Sims are right on! study those that are listed through out the dumps listed that are within this site for Security+. If you take the perceived easy way and just memorize questions and answers your chances for success are slim, you have to know the port numbers, protocols, and an understanding of what is going on. Don't Take the perceived Easy Way Out-Because it is not- Just Saying! Good luck for those that are about to test

Passed today with 841/900 as well. Prepped with this dump the most, and found it most valid, but used dumps from other submissions posted within the last 2 months on this site. While this dump has proven to be the most valid, at least 50% of the questions I did not recognize on the actual test (and that's across about six dumps i used from this site). I actually had two WTF questions that put me into a panic as I did not recognize the terminology of the query, and I've been working in IT since '93.

I recommend reading the Darril Gibson book and I used the Professor Messor tutorial videos extensively and also studied the simulations posted in this blog. Darril Gibson's website was also been very helpful in prepping for the sims.

As others have mentioned, I do not recommend using the dumps exclusively for the test - the questions were virtually verbatim for A+ and Network +, not so much Security+.

However, the dumps helped me identify areas that I needed to significantly focus more time and understand the subject matter, which ultimately helped me pass.

I just passed the exam today with 841/900. I did the first 100 questions of this dump and found very limited similar questions on the test. However, the more you practice on this dump, the more feeling and experience you can get for the test.

Just took the exam ( 883, dec 4). With regards to all who says this dump is invalid, that isn't totally true, some of the questions were word for word and some of the questions are of very similar concepts. Simulations were based on Volatility of data, Ports, Physical security types, firewall config which entail ports where I made error of tftp 69 being tcp rather than udp (that hurts), social engineering schemes. About 5 questions were totally unrelated to the exam which normally occurs with comptia.
Study materials included CBT nuggets, Professor Messrs, Trainsignal videos and books such Sybex 5th edition, Darril Gibson Study guide, Pearson Exam Cram 3rd edition. And 1000s of practice question from dumps provided here and in books. My advice try to gain as much knowledge as possible not just to pass exam but to be better at your job.

I just passed the test on the 27th / with 783. The test is passable but you have to read every question carefully and use a lot of common sense. Its not a difficult test just different style of questions. I have followed the last dump as well as this dump and would like to underscore that Comptia can draw from a range of 3500 questions that cover their subject matter. The range from the actualtest is a lot smaller but covers the subject matter. Comptia may have 5 different versions of the same question. Actualtest only captures one version of the question but concept is the same. So you have to study the concepts. The sims from media fire is spot on and you have to know your tcp and udp ports. Took exam yesterday, and I got an exam that had very few of this dumps questions. Maybe 15-20 and at the end! I passed with a 798 .. but I guess only cause I've been pouring over dumps and a cram book for a few months. For me .. these questions were no longer valid although the interaction questions were partly the same which I think helped.

BigK - would it be possible for you to make available a PDF version of this collection of questions? I'm familiar with another study tool, AnyMemo, that is a free app that I use on my android phone. I realize there is a mobile version of this test engine, which I might very well purchase as well but I'd rather start with a format I'm familiar with.

To Ryan: This dump is valid and will help towards passing Security+ exam but don't just study this dump. I recommend studying Security+ books or you can try Professor Messer on Youtube which knows his stuff and teaches many different IT subjects. Good Luck!
