Build reading accuracy across different kinds of text<\/h3>\n

Reading practice now needs to combine language precision with passage comprehension. In sentence- or word-completion work, notice grammar, collocations and contextual meaning. With daily-life texts, practice locating purpose, instructions and relevant details quickly. Academic passages demand tracking argument structure, contrasts, examples and conclusions. Each task asks for related but distinguishable skills.<\/p>\n

Do not measure progress only by how many pages you read. After a short set, explain why the correct answer is supported and why a distractor overstates or misreads the source. Keep a small log of recurring errors such as pronoun reference, inference, chronology or vocabulary in context.<\/p>\n

Practice listening as active interpretation<\/h3>\n

For the updated Listening section, include brief responses, conversations, announcements and academic talks. Identify the speaker’s purpose, the relationship between ideas and what action or conclusion follows from the exchange. During practice, write only notes you can use: topic, change of direction, key contrast, reason and outcome. Excessive transcription can prevent comprehension. Writing preparation should include building correct sentences, drafting a purposeful email and presenting a clear position in an academic discussion. A strong answer responds to the actual task, uses precise grammar and supports its purpose; a memorized essay with unrelated arguments will not substitute for task awareness. Measure clarity and relevance before attempting elaborate wording.<\/p>\n

Speaking work should include accurate listening-and-repetition drills and concise responses to interview prompts. Record your responses to check intelligibility, pacing and whether you addressed the specific question. Improvement depends on making language more accurate and communicative, not imitating a particular accent.<\/p>\n

Use one coherent feedback cycle<\/h3>\n

Take a current-format diagnostic, then group mistakes by skill and task. For example, a Reading vocabulary issue may call for contextual word analysis, while a Speaking interview issue may require structured practice giving a direct answer followed by an example. Reassess those individual skills before booking another full mock. Official sample material is preferable when trying to understand task mechanics, while third-party material should be checked against ETS’s current description.<\/p>\n

Finally, confirm your test-center or Home Edition requirements from the current ETS registration instructions. A device check or identity rule is separate from language preparation and should not be left until exam day.
