@Serge: Ballooning will be the preffered memory conservation technique over swapping. Ballooning however is only possible when the VMware tools are installed on the virtual machine, and they are running.

That would explain answer D. C is correct, because the VMware tools are started as a service, later on in the boot process. Before the tools are running, swapping can occur, and ballooning can not.

For reference, see the VMware best practice on memory management. Concepts of ballooning are further explained here.

What would be correct answer on the following Question (the one that provided in the dump doesn't make cense):

According to the dump, the correct answer is BCD. I understand why B is the correct answer, but not why C and D are correct.

Does anyone have any insight?

Like some posted some questions have been rephrased so answered as switched.

For example Q196 on this dump says "A DRS cluster with two ESXi 5.x hosts is set to fully automated mode.". The test today said "A DRS cluster has been configured with two ESXi 5.x hosts" without specifying that it was set to fully automated. Thus, the answer was "The DRS Migration Threshold is too aggressive." and "VMware DRS is not set to Fully Automated." where as in this dump the answer was other two choices.

It takes around 15 days for the transcript to be available on MyLearn portal for VMware (the one in which you are able to see your course certificate) in case of any doubts you can mail on certification@vmware.com for any queries. This mail ID is also provided in the portal under the certification FAQ section. Hope this answers your question.

@rose Yes you need to get the official training to get certifed. The training you need to take is VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.1]

If you can't get the training at your work I suggest you skip this as it will cost you around 3000 eur

Hi SOI,

In order to sit for VCP exam you must do the VCP 5 authorized course from an authorized VMware training center. You can sit straight away for VCP 5's exam but you won't be officially certified VCP. Some people sit for the exam first and then sit for the course but it creates too much of hassle to chase them up and change your certificate status. I hope it will help. Cheers
