Used Microsoft Braindump 70-640 v2009-01-30 by breeze1974 126q.vce

No new questions. Here's what I remember from the labs; 1st lab had 7 tasks, 2nd lab had 8.

I can't remember which tasks belong to which labs, but hopefully some of this will be helpful:

change group type (2-3 of these), i.e. security to distribution, universal to domain local, etc.
Assign a delegation to another DC (DNS)
Raise domain AND forest functional level
Set postalCode attribute to replicate with global Catalog (only one I couldn't figure out)
Disable round-robin and recursive lookup
Remove a RODC, reset the passwords for users/computers, and export that list of users/computers to a txt
Use pre-existing GPOs to not show last user login name on your DC, and password history of 12 on domain
Set replication schedule to ignore
Set DEFAULTSITEIPLINK to not replicate on Sundays
Set Branch location to enable universal name caching

I think that's it, at least, that's all I remember. Good luck!

Oh, if any of you get stuck on a task, the "Help" section WORKS. I used it 5-6x and still got a 916 on the exam.

MCITP Enterprise COMPLETE.

I passed 83-640 June 11 2009

Postby User8675309 » Fri Jun 12, 2009 12:33 am

I passed today thanks to caustic's advice.

My own comments are that you should definately spend time on the questions here - they are still relevant for the 30 questions you are asked on this exam (after the 2 labs)

The labs are daunting at first, but in the end I was able to complete all but one task.

So long as the labs remain 80 min each. there is time to read the help file, bring up the help text of a command in a cmd.exe window, look around the interface, look through the different AD tools etc...

Notice I said so long as the labs remain 80min ea. If you knew what you were doing, you could probably do the labs in 10 min each.
My advice would be to take this exam as soon as possible, it is still a new exam and could be tweaked at any time. if they cut the lab to 40 minutes, you will not have much time to figure out what you don't know by reading help etc.. So take this one now, study the questions and you'll do fine.
I studied the same 70-640 v2009-01-30 by breeze1974 126q.vce as Caustic386 did, however I did so the morning of the test and didn't get through all of them - I wish I had spent more time on those.

For what its worth, I too could not figure out how to replicate an attribute to the global catalog - help talked about how to add a GC, but nothing of Attributes - so research how to do this.

Hey all,

Passed my first ever MS exam on the 15th Aug with a (I have no idea as I had to call them and they are sending me the score within 1-2 days) score!

I used Exam Cram 70-640 book, CBT Nugs and a little 3 server lab environment with Virtual Server and the VHD's available from MS' website.

The info on this thread is valid.

2 labs and 30 questios.

Two lab and they where pretty hard.. since I am not working with AD... BUT you can use HELP from the Windows 2008 server and that made it for me!

The lab is 2 times 65 minutes.... then the rest of the questions are EASY if you have done the exam called pass4sure....
