thanx deepusanker
IT WORKS!!!! it actually WORKS!!!!

step 1:Mount the Iso and install the Labsim.

step 2:Go to H:\Testout\Outlines, where 'H:\' is ur mounted drive location.

step 3:Right click on the .xml file and select Open With, Browse to the C:\Program Files\TESTOUT\Orbis\Legacy and select LegacyXEng.exe and Open.

DONE!!! :D

How about exam questions in LabSim? Doest it work for you?

another way??

Postby bighairyinvader » Sat Feb 06, 2010 7:59 pm

not sure if this has been tried as i only glanced at some of the posts but i was trying another way of getting the files to load using the original install exe for the 2003 files.

i've used the method of changing the files names (glossary2) etc for mcitp and this worked fine for all the labs i've tried however i was thinking that there might be another way instead of having to change the file names all the time....if you know what i mean. the autorun for server 08 when installed asks you to authenticate/verify by way of a key.

i tried changing the autorun for the server 2003 which doesn't expect reg and changed the filelist and a few other files, which worked to the point that it throws an error stating "DBISAM Engine Error #9729 Duplicate key found in the index " of the table 'TEMPFILEDB'". this happens just after selecting the option to run from HDD.

as i said i'm not sure if anyone's tried this, i may be way off the mark but thought this could be a good alternative to having to change the file names etc...

if anyone has any input or advice please let me know

it doesn't

Postby m_O_O_m » Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:09 pm

It doesn't work for me on Network+ 2009.
Here's the screenshot of the error.

Method I used to get Network+ working was to run "LegacyXEng.exe" file to open XML file. It works great with video's and sim's. but not exams.

1-Install the Labsim
2-Copy the xml file from the dvd/ISO (X:\Testout\Outlines) to your desktop.
3-Open the xml file with notepad and click edit and then select and click "replace".
4-In the "find what" field type "..".
6-In the "Replace with" field type "X:\Testout", where X is the letter of your virtual drive.
7-Click "Replace all" and then save and close the file.
8-Right click the xml file and select "open with".
9-Browse to "C:\Program Files\TESTOUT\Orbis\Legacy" and select "LegacyXEng.exe".

update windows media player 11

LabSim

Postby raspberry » Fri Mar 05, 2010 2:48 am

Okay, I got the CourseSim to work, but I need the actual LabSim to work too. I have to use this for a class and I can't seem to find how to use the just the Lab Simulator. I need this for homework and apparently we can turn in our lab diagrams as a PDF printout. Does anyone know how to be able to use the LabSim without an activation key??

The exam questions don't work because they are .exm format and we're using the legacy application to try and open them.

The old format was .dat, but they were changed for security reasons.
