I passed 70-528 C# with a score of 965.
Last week I started looking at all (10) sets of questions downloadable from this site.
Things I noticied:
a) The exams Actualtest 09-03-2006 (questions starting with 'You work as a Microsoft ASP.NET developer at Certkiller.com") seem to be outdated (as 'newer questions' have been asked)
b) Various vce files regarding 07.26.06 provide DIFFERENT answers to SOME questions, so better check those answers!
c) Many of the vce files contain DUPLICATE questions (within a vce file!)
d) Eventually I used "Microsoft.TestKing.70-528.C 23.v2008-03-05.by.Guitong.81.q.vce" (containing 81 questions without duplicates [as far I noticed]) because it contains explanations AND because the answers at some questions with DIFFERENT answers by other vce-files seemed more reasonable to me, but most of the studying i have done with the other sets.
e) I've studied the questions by first trying to find the answer to a question myself followed by looking at the explanation and trying to understand WHY I made a mistake (if i did). This way of studying lead to not only being able to recognize questions+answers but (VERY important of course) being able to reproduce the logic behind the choice(s) of the right answer(s) and I believe I really learned a lot by this way of studying (allthough I might have passed without it as well)
I think it would be great if all the answers to the questions are being reviewed by someone who is an expert and ONE set will be generated containing the GOOD answers + explanations instead of several sets containing bugs.
Exam just took 14 minutes + 7 reviewing ([almost] knowing I passed because I knew 'enough' answers would be OK), but I think I couldn't do better if would have used more time.
I hope someone may benifit from the remarks I made |

Well, in principal I agree on that.
But I've been watched while taking the exam by someone who's tasks have been to provide assistance if required AND to watch out if the exams (other people there taking exams as well) will procede according to the rules. |

I've also passed today - I found that the
Microsoft.BrainDumps.70-528.v2007-26-06.by.JoeArmonic.177q.vce was enough for me - I scored 982.
I agree with SoftwareTester - these tests are a good starting point to learn quickly (even though you can learn it word-for-word, but it's pointless then).
As for the comment of shandel - nobody will try to make such a remark that one cheated because he solved quickly. If you know your stuff, there's no one that can deny that.
I usually stay about 30mins, to read each question in full, even though I already know the answer after a few words But it's just to be sure they haven't changed something (but they never do )
Congrats to you SoftwareTester! |

congratz too!!
Especially in the era of internet "finding and using information properly" is something that makes a difference between those who have a chance to catchup with all changes in IT and those who will not.
So if Microsoft makes it possible (by not having a VERY large collection of 'possible questions' and/or by changing exams frequently) people anticipate and gather info about the exams on the internet, they cannot blame people for doing so but only themselves for making it posisble.
Like I stated before I MIGHT have paased the exams without the help of studying the questions, but for sure it helped a lot STUDYING the questions. If you have knowledge about ANY subject you will improve knowledge if you have to answer good questions and have the answers explained to you. Studying the questions available at this site by no means can be called "cheating" and even if the exam would only take ONE minute I just can't see what objection Microsoft could have against it.
IMO "cheating" is doing something ilegal like:
- discussing the questions at the exam
- using documents (written or electronic of course) containing questions + answers
- hacking the exam
Using knowledge you obtained by no means can be called cheating.
Of course I fully agree it is not done (and useless in the long run) to JUST remember all questions + answers and passing ANY exam documented at this site that way. But even that is ONLY because Microsoft makes it possible.
I myself have over 25 years experience in development of software but because of circumstances I've been "out" for several years. So I started "my comeback" over half a year ago by learning C#, making some small windows apps and "playing" with making websites. I watched the movies for the courses at least 2 times each and practised labs twicce.
So I don't think I have been "cheating" by using sources available on the internet for studying exams (and I STARTED studying those exams thursday last week) |
