Passed!!!

Postby Thoro » Fri Aug 28, 2009 4:43 pm

Passed with 900+
40 questions and like 8 sims
At the end, I almost run out of time... because the sims consume time.... but I finished exacly with the clock ;)

My Training:
I used CBTNuggets 640-822 ICND1(Great Videos, Great Teacher)
I used Packet Tracer 5.0 (ultra important!!!! the sims that you need!!!)
**I used KillTest_640-822_V3.93 (good to practice)
**I used Cisco.CertifyMe.640-822.v2.83.by.Certblast.122q (good to practice)

From where I downloaded everything?:
Here!!!

** I didn't rely on the brainddumps because on cisco exam you can't. You really need to know to answer those questions and the sims.

I "Practiced" with the dumps (not memorizing them) to be agile.... yes... very close question asked on real exam, but not the same.

Thanks
:D

They give you scenarios where you have to setup thru the console the instructions they give you. They ask ... Change hostname, setup subnet, enable interface, ripv2, enable and secure console, setup telnet, exec mode. And also they are other sims thay you dont have to setup anything, just look for what they ask...example... What is wrong in the security in this router..?.(and they give 4 questions to answer based on what you are looking)So you go to the console, show run... Then analize and answer the questions... Ex... The passwords are in clear text... Etc....

It's very important you create different scenarios (test rip, static & dinamic routing, security, telnet, etc..)in Packet Tracer 5, because will give you the practice that you need.

Good luck

Passed on 8 April 2010 914 out of 1000
50 questions and had 90 minutes for exam, finished with 30 minutes to spare.

Sims
One needed to use CDP Neighbour and CDP Neighbour detail to find out interfaces and IP addresses of other Cisco devices connected. Then needed to set up login for telnet, console, enable password and secret. Set IP address and subnet to interfaces and enable them.

Another one needed interfaces setting up again as well as enabling a routing protocol (RIP) and advertising networks.

All the questions that related to subnetting seemed to be /28 which I thought was quite strange.

Labs
I practised using Packet tracer labs from Sem2 of the CCNA discovery programme (DHCP and Static NAT), which I didn't need!

Exams
VisualCert I used
Cisco.ActualTests.640-822.v2009-09-30.by.Darshana.203q.vce
Cisco.CertifyMe.640-822.v2010-03-04.by.Taylor.209q.vce

Got about 10 questions that were in those two, there was quite a bit of overlap between these two anyway.

Overall was easier than I thought it would be, you need to know your commands to configure a router vty/con, interfaces, and to know how to find information (Show Version/CDP) etc. Also know your LED's status (Green/Amber).

Good Luck.

640-822

You really can't cheat on this exam.
I passed today on my first try but let me give you guys a bit of advice. Do not memorize these dumps. It's a waste of time. Study first the real way then if you want at the end use this dumps to see if you learned enough to be able to pass the exam on your own but don't memorize the answers. If you are getting too many answers wrong then your not studying well and redo the chapter. I scored 852/1000. Almost all of the questions were all new. Don't rely on these dumps for anything but to build your confidence at the end after studying hard. I used these materials under a Month & a half:

***TestOut CCNA 640-802 Chapters 0-7 & Chapter 11.

***CBT Nuggets CCNA All ICND1 Videos

***CBT Nuggets CCNA ICND2 Following Videos >
> Subnetting: Understanding VLSM
> WAN Connections: Implementing PPP Authentication
> WAN Connections: Understanding Frame Relay
> Advanced TCP/IP: Working with Binary
> Advanced TCP/IP: IP Subnetting, Part 1
> Advanced TCP/IP: IP Subnetting, Part 2
> Advanced TCP/IP: IP Subnetting, Part 3

***IP Subnetting Workbook(s) Both Student & Teacher Editions free download from scribd.com

Using the Subnetting method on CBT Nuggets has been the best method I have ever used. I hate math so much too so if you guys have math fears use the CBT Nuggets method. When your done then test yourself with these dumps but don't look at the correct answers. Just verify with questions you failed and study that chapter again.

Sad to say I don't recomend the famous CCNA Study Guide by Todd Lammle. Too much unecessary info. His method of doing subnetting is too complex...you have to memorize an entire chart. With CBT Nuggets you don't.

Passed 1st try after 6 months hard study

Postby Squidward » Mon Oct 04, 2010 10:55 am

Passed 1st hit, score in the high 800, completely cocked up one Sim, hit next without completing the other questions, watch out for that, dooh!

Odom and Lammle, CBT nuggets and 5.2 packet tracer and ebay purchased routers and switches.

Worked hard for 6 months (really spent my time on this material), then tested my knowledge on Testking V38, also had a look at the other files available there is a massive overlap on the questions in the files.

I hadn't expected the files to be that valid, so I didn't spend my time looking too much at the answers. The files are quite valid though had a new sim on security settings ie VTY and console between a a router and switch settings, need to show run on both.
Be quick on your subnetting, cos under stress conditions is kinda goes to pot. no calculator just a scratch pad.

Finished within an hour, onward and upward.
A+, Network +, MCP 70-270, 70-290, 70-291, MCSA 2003, C.C.N.A via 640-822 and 640-816

Passed with 825/1000 - I reccomend that you understand and do well at:

Cisco.Prepking.640-822.v2011-11-22.by.Calvomak.268q.vce (this dump)
Cisco.CertifyMe.640-822.v2011-10-03.by.Bean.264q.vce
9tut.net (ICND1 section)

I only used these to test myself .. I am studying via Cisco Networking Academy - make sure you know subnetting for this exam!
