Passed 117-102 on June 4th 2009.

Score: 770 / 800

Used resources:
- O'Reilly LPIC in a nutshell
- Sybec LPIC-1 2nd edition
- P4S 3.xx (bought it) (only ~20% match!)
- ~7 years of basic linux hobby-ism

Passed 117-102

Postby dpekipeki » Tue Jul 14, 2009 12:08 pm

I just passed this exam today, 730 / 800.

There were 80 questions but only 60 were included in the final score. So i think 20 questions are "pilot" questions.

How did i prepare?

- LPI 117-102 objectives from www.lpi.org - this is a must to review since this exam has just been revised last April 2009
-
117-102 VCEs, I mostly used LPI.ActualTests.117-102.v1.1.03.01.2007.by.BeCKS.vce (30-40% match only!)
- Boson Software, General Linux LPIC1 Exam 102 (i think no match in the actual exam but definitely useful to reinforce learning)
- 117-102 Interactive Testing Engine by Examworx
- LPI in a Nutshell by O'Reilly
- LPIC-1 and LPIC-2 CBT Nuggets (highly recommended)
- VMWare with different Linux distros (e.g. CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Slackware, Fedora, RHEL) - they all run beautifully in my Intel Core 2 Quad / 4GB machine :D
- 7+ years of Linux/Unix experience

Hth.

Passed today with 700/800.

The exam is NOT easy, lots of fill in questions.

Without considerable amount of Linux / Unix experience passing this exam will not be an easy task - be warned.

No more memorizing answers from dumps

I prepared with Sybex LPIC1 2nd edition, great book for sure.
VMware with 4 different distro's - Fedora,Ubuntu ,SLES, CentOS.

Has anyone taken this test recently?

If so, are the exam files still pretty valid for the fill in portions of the exam?

Any help would be appreciated, I cant afford to take this twice :|
