Hi, just curious about the MCITP path, I'm MCITP Enterprise Admin now, should i take the Server Admin too?

from Microsoft web site, it's kind of confuse.

MCITP: Enterprise Administrator
Candidates should be experienced in:
• Designing Windows Server infrastructures.
• Evaluating and recommending new technology solutions.
• Serving as an escalation point for infrastructure issues.
• Developing client and server best practices for other teams, such as engineering, development, and operations.
• Keeping policy current for authentication, identity, and access management.
• Providing guidance in implementing security policies that affect the infrastructure on multiple levels.
• Participating in application reviews on security, and ensuring that the applications adhere to standard security guidelines and practices.

MCITP: Server Administrator
Candidates should be experienced in: • Handling day-to-day management of the server operating system, file structure, and directory services.
• Handling software distribution and updates.
• Monitoring servers
• Providing tier-2 troubleshooting support.
• Supporting engineering and change-management projects.
• Creating builds and configuring the server.
• Implementing the auditing policy.
• Performing scheduled vulnerability-assessment scans.
• Monitoring logs for firewalls and intrusion-detection systems.

Please kindly adv.

think of it like this MCSE is MCITP enterprise administrator
MCSA is MCITP server administrator

MCITP enterprise administrator is a higher title than MCITP server administrator. After all to get MCITP enterprise administrator title you need to pass 5 exams. To get the MCITP server administrator title you only need to pass 3.

I hate the new name titles it can confuse people. If you want you can do mcitp server administrator. But i think it's a waste cause u have MCITP enterprise administrator which is way higher.Do ccna or the new SQL database series. Rolling Eyes

Since you are MCITP for Enterprise, it will be better to try Exchange 2007, CCNA for R&S, and CCNA for Voice.

But if you are focusing as Server designer, try the hardware stuff also like IBM and HP's server certs.

But its your decision not ours. Knowledge is power and godbless.
