I was a bit dumb and only used a combination of this dump, youtube and google and this dump was about 45% - 50% correct, however I did pass, but for anyone else I would suggest at least 2 other authors dump in conjunction with this, then you should sail through no problems, but don't parrot learn. understand the work!

You may recall that CompTIA {Chapter 1 Security+ 4ed} said that performance-based questions will start appearing in the current Security+ SY0-301 exam in early 2013 (see Aug 20 2012 blog posting). We now have some firm dates from CompTIA along with additional information.

Performance-based questions require the test-taker to perform a task or solve a problem in a simulated environment to show that they have the necessary skills to go along with their knowledge (which is often assessed through multiple-choice questions). CompTIA has announced that the new performance-based questions will start appearing on Security+ exams beginning January 5, 2013. Anyone who takes that test on or after that date will see these new questions in addition to the regular multiple-choice questions. These new questions will also be added to A+ exams (220-801 and 220-801) in October and to Network+ exams on November 4.

Hi,

I have had great confidence in this site and the material provided here since I passed my Comptia A+ two part exam not long ago.

I was very skeptical but then saw many of the questions to be verbatim/word for word.

Before I say this, i want everyone to know i am not trying to degrade the site in any way. But i want you to be aware! and use GOOGLE and do some research before you use these as your only study tool.
It is VERY IMPORTANT to know the material and have an understanding of concepts, not just "pump and dump" What happens if you are in the field and someone asks you a technical question you cannot answer since it was in the "braindump"?

I studied this dump, along with my study book. I was doing self study, so this is highly valued for me, as I had no teacher or anyone around me to show me anything. After a week and a half, of studying the questions and the book, I took the test and passed with a 829/720. A lot of what was on the test can be found on this dump. I do recommend that you cross study and not rely on just one thing to much. However, thank you Eman, for this awesome study guide!

Did my test like 30 min ago. Was using only eman's dump and I knew it like ABC but only 20 questions came up on my test and some of them where rephrased the rest 80 I didn't know but was able to answer just because I knew every term and what it's for and I passed with a score of 896/900 but after 10 min of test I was sure that I'm going to fail! I was concerned about one question, though like for two weeks, wanted to ask if I was wrong about it but never did and I think that was the only mistake I did.
My test report states that I had a mistake in:

4.2 Given scenario use appropriate hardware tools to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

eman's dump question number 180 A:

I think the right answer is 3 and 4 but eman's dump says it's 1 and 4 which I've selected on my test and failed this question according to the test report. Anyone else is having doubts about this question or I'm wrong?

@R man: They are not talking about the TCP protocol. They mean the TCP/IP model which has 4 layers. The Network Interface Layer is the first layer in the TCP/IP model which is the first two layers in the OSI model. The first 2 layers in the OSI model are Data Link and Physical.

@ Solomon: I do not recommend waiting until the 29th. CompTIA plans to add performance based questions. Although there is no official date, they have stated that they plan on doing this before the end of September. I would recommend moving the date up. This dump is mostly valid. If you practice every single question on this dump, I GUARANTEE you will get a 900. I got an 877 and I only practiced roughly 250 questions from this dump.

@ Jin: A lot of the questions were from this dump, word for word. The questions that were not from this dump are just the same questions from Eman dump but reworded. If you study ALL questions from this dump. I GUARANTEE a 900 score. That is my experience when taking the test.

@thabang can't you do it like 5 days before October? When I was doing ECDL/ICDL I had some performance based questions, I had to edit text, save a file, use styles in Word etc. Just imagine that you sitting behind a PC and you are tasked to fix a network connection or something as would normally do at home.. It mignt be something easier and similar to this, I do not think that all this can get so difficult in couple weeks.

@malvin N10 004 is previous version and N10 005 current, newer.
For those studying toward CompTIA Network+ certification, exam code N10-004, that exam will be available in English, Japanese and Taiwanese until August 31, 2012. The exam will be available in Spanish, German and Korean until the fourth quarter of 2012. The most current version of the certification is exam code N10-005.

This dump is valid. Several new questions. From what I can remember:
1. 802.3 specification.
2. A person with a wi fi not working has a teleconference in 30 mins but has a RJ45 jack - I chose use a wired connection.
3. Protocols at different levels. A question, Which protocol operates at the lowest level?
4.Know the tools you would use to troubleshoot connectivity issues, ie. Packet Sniffer, Port Scanner, IDS, IPS etc.
5. When you would uses a router and switch and how to configure them.

Test very accurate. About 95 %. There were some new questions, but there was note on beginning of test that not all questions are graded. Got almost perfect score.

This is one of those questions that you have to think outside the box..I think when they were creating this question they had a Network Sniffer in mind were a Hub will not stop broadcast traffic to the sniffer. Where a switch you would need to turn on port mirroring.
