BTW, I understand how this question can be interpreted in different ways. If they wanted your answer it should have stated "Which command displays the current IP address and which command displays detailed Layer 1 and 2 status of an interface? . even then there are multiple answers for the ip part but really this question is just too vague.

To answer Andrew B's question the answer is b and c. I have looked through gns show controllers.there is no ip address information listed. also the question asks for "basic layer 1 and 2 information". Show Controllers gives detailed information. Also the question asks for IP address "AND" basic layer 1 and 2 status. The Cisco Learning Network seems to agree with me.

Redbird, answers are as follows:

On the State router:
S0 192.168.191.78
E0 192.168.191.190

192.168.191.0 is the 'zeroith' subnet. Start counting from .16.

Add that, the subnet mask and no shut to the interfaces. Add a clock rate to the serial if needed. Advertise in RIP via 192.168.191.0. No need to go to RIPv2 since we're contiguous.

Probably could throw in s0 as a default route, but it doesn't say to do that.

I have read and re-read CCENT/CCNA ICND1 (ODOM - Third Edition) and studied for the past six weeks. This book was part of the Official Cert Library that came with some simulations and practice exams, which I have also studied. I have also completed CCNA1 and CCNA2 through a local community college. I am set to take the CCENT tomorrow morning at 9:00AM. This will be the first Cisco test that I have taken.

@Andrew B. I can understand were you are coming from. I was just explaining why the dump had those 2 commands at being correct. But now that I think about it, it should be all 3 cause show ip int will display that information also. I just googled that question and there was a website that states that all three commands are correct.lol. What else are you using to prep for the exam. I am taking my exam this Friday morning.

As you can see, it does not display any information about the IP address or the layer 1/2 status.

However, when I put in the Show IP Interface command, I get;

You can see in the first two lines that it displays the IP address and the layer 1/2 status.

#show protocols will display the ip address along with other information.
#show controllers will display the physical information like what type of device it is.

I hope this makes since. If you have packet tracer try it out. Try not to memorize the answers. You should be able to explain why the answer is correct. Good luck on your journey.

@AndrewB the answer C&D is correct. from user mode if you type show controllers the Layer 1 information of the device will be displayed. Remember Layer1 is the Physical Layer. #show controllers displays all the information about the device like mac address and what type of device it is. So to answer your question C&D is correct but I can see where you are coming from also.

Also I work on some Cisco equipments at work which helped alot.: say this dumb is abut 80% to 85% valid. Don't only depend on this at least watch cbtnugguets and you will be fine so if they tweak and change small things yo don't get lost. I had ONLY the Implementation SIM. The security Testlet from 9tut.net I think everyone has has lately. Very easy though as long as you understand "enable secret", "enable password", "login", "login local", "transport input", "line vty", "service password-encryption", "bannder motd", "privilege.

Also had the WAN Drag and Drop

Point to Point - Lease Line
Circuit Switched - PSTN
Packet Switched - Frame Relay
Cell Switched - ATM

Really that's about it as far as the hands on and drap and drop. I think I got a bit lucky on how easy my exam was. The questions were all right off this dump and 9tut.net 100%. They are rearranged and somewhat reworded, but honestly I studied for like 3 months and could have done it with only a month of studying. I think the questions are pretty random so just learn the dump and 9tut and you'll be fine.

Each of these are subnets. So the 4th normally would be the the 48-63 subnet, but since it says to not consider the 0 subnet, we need to bump it up to the next subnet which is the 64-80 subnet, and the last usable ip address on that subnet is .78. That makes it the 4th "usable" subnet after discounting the 0 subnet. Make sense?

It asks to not to consider "zero subnet to be usable!".

Hence when I discounted the zero subnet i.e, 192.168.191.0/28

The last host in the 11th subnet comes out to be 192.168.191.190/28

The last host in the 4th subnet comes out to be 192.168.191.78/28

If someone else would like to confirm that this is correct, that would be great!

Could someone please verify and explain answer for the Lab Sim regarding the State, Shore, and Midtown routers.

The question says configure the state router so E0 receives the eleventh usable subnet and S0 receive the fourth usable subnet. What does eleventh and forth subnet mean.

I did break the IP into subnets but the last IPs I got on the eleventh and fourth subnets are different than the test answers.

The right device is a switch. Each port on a switch is a collision domain. That's a total a total of 6 collision domains, including the port the router is connected to. The hub is one big collision domain so that entire left side is counted as just one collision domain. If you add that up, it becomes a total of 7 collision domains.

I set this up on Packet tracer and unless I applied the default route to both routers then network on Router B is not able to ping. As far as I know, you can't ping the network on Router A because it has no route to reply back. Am I wrong? I must be missing something.I've set this up several times on packet tracer and only setup the default route on one router and doesn't work but when I set it up on both routers, I get a response. I'm confused :-(

@ Alex, I think the correct answer is A and C. because the question asked only how to get from 172.16.1.0 to 10.0.0.0. If you do this on packet tracer you should be able to reach 10.0.0.0 but not the other way around from 10.0.0.0 to 172.16.1.0 Unless we enter on Router A 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.2.1 (Next Hop) I think Answer E can't be right because applying the same command which is 0.0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.2.2 on Router A makes no sense and Router A is already the next hop. I think it's answer C because we are forwarding any destination to Router A and router knows where the internet is or the 10.0.0.0.

When you open Visual CertExam Designer. Question number 242, ITEM 116 shows a Subt Network with routers A and B.

Refer to exhibit. Which two statements are correct

When I test this in packet tracer, in order for two network to communicate both need to have the static route applied. One isn't enough because network A does NOT know how to reply back to network B. Passed today with 925. The dump is about 90 percent valid. Received about 5 questions which included a Sim that are not on this dump. Just treated them as questions which are not marked by Cisco. ;) They included a WAN Drag n Drop, a router and a switch sim, I dont know what topic it was.
The sims I received were Show Configuration Sim and Implementation SIM with different IPs and values changed. (Present on 9tut.net http://www.9tut.net/icnd1/labsim/implementation-sim)

Had loads of Questions from the Router topic of the dump.

The exam wasn't *easy* per se. Having a solid understanding of the course concepts is key. Knowing router and switch configuration IOS commands are also a must.

Damn, these exams have A LOT of incorrect answers!!!! Here's another one that someone needs to confirm. Question 317.

Routers 2620 and 2521 need to be swapped, the Local Interface when doing a show CDP Neighbors does not match up with what has been placed in answer. The other two routers 2514 and 2501 are correct, but the 2620 and 2621 do NOT match up with their local interfaces. Please confirm this one as well.

Has nobody verified these exams, some have been out over year..

Question 319 regarding NAT, why is there only 3 answers out of 4? Shouldn't the PC_1 be the "NAT Inside Local"????? As CBT Nuggets and other resources states, the private IP address are NAT Inside Local so I don't understand if they forgot to drag the answer, or if it's supposed to be empty? Please confirm if that question is only supposed to have 3 answers. Thanks!!!

Passed today 9251000. This dump is 80% valid. One new sim and 1 new drag and drop..Make sure you understand the concepts and you will be ok!!!!!!

Serious concern here folks. Question in the dump asks:

Refer to the exhibit. Which two statements are correct?

RouterB(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.2.2

A. This is a default route.
B. Adding the subnet mask is optional for the ip route command.
C. This will allow any host on the 172.16.1.0 network to reach all known destinations beyond RouterA.
D. This command is incorrect, it needs to specify the interface, such as s0/0/0 rather than an IP address.
E. The same command needs to be entered on RouterA so that hosts on the 172.16.1.0 network can reach network 10.0.0.0.

Answers are A, and C.

I have no problem with answer A, it's obviously a default Route. BUT..when I set this up in a lab with Router A and one pc, and Router B and one pc. I setup a default route from Router B to Router A. I can ping router A's "other" interface from Router B, BUT..the PCs CANNOT ping Router A's "other" interface UNTIL I setup a default route on Router A to Router B as well. This is also true about RIP and RIP V2.

So what I'm trying to say is, In packet trace I MUST set this up on both ends for the clients to access each other. But this question says otherwise. Can someone please explain if RIP and Static routing and default routes have to be setup on all end points for this to work in real life? Cisco seems to say it works fine only on one end, but that's not true when I test this. So this means the answer should really be

A, and E not A, and C.

I just took the exam on Friday and passed with an 865. Tommy is right, that drag and drop with the circuits pstn,frame relay, leased line through me a curve.I would just say to study the icnd1 book by odoms and you'll be fine. This dump is still valid though. There are some questions though that I saw on the exam that were not in the dump. Seriously though, if you intend pass the exam based on this dump alone..you will be screwed in the real world. Read the books, do the labs, then only use these dumps as a reference.

When you purchase the engine, you should be able to use as much as you like with all the exams. Exams are free to download, its just the engine you need to pay for.
