Hey everyone I just passed with a 921. Dump is %100 valid. Thought I'd list the questions I received on the test. I'm Listing them according to the question numbers in this dump. 1,7,9,10,18,22,27,39,43,48,57,71,80,81,83,91,94,99,104,107,108,116,119,125,
126,127,134,167,178,185,187,191,193,194,204,207,209,210,212,225,227,233,
237,247,254,263,267,291,293,307,317.
Plus there was a Security Testlet where you needed to identify security problems with a Running Configuration. This is explained on 9tut.com.
Good luck, hope this helps someone who is cramming before the test changes

Highly recommend this dump. I went through it a bunch of times and by the time I sat for the exam it was a piece of cake. If you get any questions wrong, look online for the reason why and make sure you understand it! Also review all the material on 9tut.net for the sims.

this one is better than the newest one from icnd1. What makes this one better is that most, if not all questions/answers are correct. the other one is very sloppy.

this one is semi valid, I had about 10 questions from it. I had all new sims too. none were here or on 9tut. know the concepts andyou'll pass.

This dump is very vaild..I passed with 9XX..along with studying and classes through the college..the exams I downloaded were from passguide, certkey & selftestengine..most question are were on cert, but without studying and knowing the material I wouldn't have did so well..9tut simulations were all on the cert as well..you will pass with all of those with at least 8XX though

It would be a class A. If you borrowed 15 bits from a class B then you would end up with 2^1 - 2 for hosts which gives you 0 hosts. Since borrowing 15 bits would have been give you only 1 host bit. You can't have 1 host bit and still have a subnet. A subnet needs to have a network address, host addresses, and a broadcast address.

This dump is also still valid in the US. I scored well above 900 and this was my primary study tool.

I would say 85% of my test was from this dump and the 9tut questions. I had a few oddballs, but if you are scoring 90% or higher on the practice tests, I think you can feel confident going into the test.

CBTNuggets did a good job with there video series on this test. I highly recommend them (even though they are bit older - 5 years or so).

Also, I want to clear this up for some, because I wasn't sure going in. the test starts you off with a score of 300. Meaning you DO NOT to answer 80.4% of the questions correctly, but more around the 70-72% mark.

Please help me with the answer to this simlet involving discovering security misconfigurations on a switch and a router, such as weak passwords, strong passwords on vty but followed by a no login or a login local command, etc. Can't exactly recall the whole thing :(. Passed just yesterday with 974. Every question was from this dump, apart from 2 questions.

The first one was a Drag and Drop involving WAN. You have {Frame Relay, PSTN, Leased Line and ATM} on the one side and have to match them with {Packet Switched, Cell Switched, Cirquit Switched and Point to Point}.

The Correct answer to this is:

Point to Point --> Leased Line
Cirquit Switched --> PSTN
Packet Switched --> Frame Relay
Cell Switched --> ATM

The other was a simlet involving discovering security misconfigurations on a switch and a router, such as weak passwords, strong passwords on vty but followed by a no login or a login local command, etc. Can't exactly recall the whole thing :(. But there is a similar simlet (or testlet:P) on 9tut.

1. Which two characteristics describe the access layer of the hierarchical network design model? (choose two)

a. Layer 3 support
b. port security
c. redundant component
d. VLANs
e. PoE
Answer shows A and B. Is that correct?

I think the answers should be B and D. Does anyone else agree or know for sure?

What are two characteristics of segmenting a network with a router? (Choose two.)

A. a router processes data more quickly than switches
B. filtering can occur based on layer 3 information
C. A router decreases the number of collision domains.
D. adding a router to the network decreases latency
E. broadcasts are not forwarded across the router

Answers are C and E, but I think the correct answer is B and E. I only say this because if you go to:

http://www.9tut.com/ccna-basic-questions-2

You can see that question one of the CCNA exam asks the same question, but with a different answer. Does anyone else agree?

Alex . Question 337. If you will look left and on left side the Network address is 192.0.2.32 /28 (unease in your question other IP address) so Host range 192.0.2.33 to 192.0.2.46 and broadcast 192.0.2.47.
If Network vould be 192.0.2.128 then yes but in question on left hand side the network is 192.0.2.32 and not 192.0.2.128.
How is possible form network 192.0.2.32 make 2.142 ?
Write me the range of the network 192.0.2.32 please? Appreciating

Question 242 is correct, at least Google. 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 means any network and any mask 172.16.2.2 means all your packets will go to . And it is Default route.

Question 338. You are right it is incorrect and thanks. .14 and .30 is first sub net. And they asking E0 eleventh subnet and S0 fourth subnet. Great catch

@Albert,

I Question 242 and Item number 116 are the same question I was asking about. I was asking someone to confirm whether the answer is A and C which I thought may be wrong.

Now as far as question 338, the question is asking about the 4th and 11th subnet.

192.168.191.14
192.168.191.30

are NOT in the 4th and the 11th subnet. If anyone else can please confirm here, I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. Read the other comments by John and Sherry below, they also agree. In fact, they're the ones that brought it up. My answers seem correct if you read the question correctly. Your explanation said nothing about why those answers provided in the test are correct, in fact made no sense.

  • Nov 07, 2012

  • Nov 07, 2012

Alex: question 338 also is correct. 192.168.191.0 is as network 191.1 is a first host 191.14 is a last host and 191.15 is a broadcast.
The only question i found incorrect is 350 and 337.
350 is asking that RouterB towards RouterA but answere is vice versa.
337 question in 6 th answer 192.0.2.142/28 is wrong just from there is took IP 2.142 I have no idea.

  • Nov 07, 2012

  • Nov 07, 2012

Alex : 242 is correct: it is default route and answer C also is correct.
Question 116 is correct too. 192.168.2.32 is a network 2.33 is a first host, 62 is a last host and 68 is a broadcast address.
You mislead exam takers here.
Please study harder.

The answer is wrong in the dump, I worked out the answer and I found it to be the following.
It asks to not to consider "zero subnet to be usable!".

Hence when I discounted the zero subnet i.e, 192.168.191.0/28

The last host in the 11th subnet comes out to be 192.168.191.190/28

The last host in the 4th subnet comes out to be 192.168.191.78/28

It's a subnetting question, but how do you explain the answers? Now I'm confused.somehow I don't think this question will be on the exam. But now I don't know for sure. Any help?????

@John and Sherry

That's an OSPF topic, it shouldn't be covered on this exam anyway.

Can someone explain to me a question and whether it's correct or not?

When you open Visual CertExam Designer. Question number 242, ITEM 116 shows a Subt Network with routers A and B.

Refer to exhibit. Which two statements are correct

Diagram appears

RouterB(config)# ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.16.2.2

Answers are:
A. This is a default Route
C. This will allow any host on 172.16.1.0 network to reach all known destinations beyond RouterA.

I'm pretty sure this is wrong. Answers should be
A and E

When I test this in packet tracer, in order for two network to communicate both need to have the static route applied. One isn't enough because network A does NOT know how to reply back to network B. Can someone PLEASE confirm this. I have asked this several times and nobody seems to know. Thanks!!!!

John, I'm glad you asked that question. I had the same exact one. That answer is definitely not right. They asked about the 11th subnet not the first. Stuff like that frustrates me and makes me wonder about the accuracy of the test.

Also could someone please tell me why one of the answers to q. #87 is A? How does that address overlap? Thanks!

@John, that is an OSPF topic and as far as I know, I'm 99% certain there's no OSPF on the ICND1 exam as it's not covered anywhere on the study materials.

So there is a question in this VCE that is suppose to be a sim. For those that have gone through this, it is the question about a community college with the locations of State, Shore, and Midtown. We are asked to subnet 192.168.191.0 /28. The two interfaces that we will be configuring on the router should receive the eleventh and fourth subnets; using the last IP address of the subnets. The answer shown says that the interface that should get the eleventh subnet actually gets 192.168.191.14 (first subnet) and the other interface got 192.168.191.30 (second subnet).

What am I missing here?

Here's the question off the CCNA exam.

What are some of the advantages of using a router to segment the network? (Choose two)

A. Filtering can occur based on Layer 3 information.
B. Broadcasts are eliminated.
C. Routers generally cost less than switches.
D. Broadcasts are not forwarded across the router.
E. Adding a router to the network decreases latency.

Answers, A and D. I know this is off the CCNA questions, but it's basically the same question reworded. The question is, does a router decrease the number of collision domains? Google says yes it some places, but then again the answer can also be "Filtering can occur based on Layer 3 information".

@Pax and Albert

According to http://www.9tut.com/ccna-basic-questions-2 Filtering can occur based on Layer 3 information.

I don't even see option C (routers decrease the number of collision domains) on the question that 9tut has so I'm not sure now.

Can someone clear this one up for us? It worries me. Do we think the answers should be B and E? Or should we go with the 9tut question and ignore the question on this practice test? Help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks for the response Albert!

I'm searching info about it on Google. The question is a bit tricky in my opinion.

What I think about this is:

* Routers reduce the collision domain (reducing the number of hosts that share a network)
* Routers don't reduce the "number" of collision domains.

I think the question refers to the second option, isn't it?. Hope not having this question tomorrow!!

Pax - I think they are both right, but if it C and E I would go for C and E. In question mansion about 'segmenting with a router' that tells a lot. Its only my opinion.

Hello, is question 114 incorrect???:

2. what are two characteristics of segmenting a network with a router ? ( choose two )

a. a router processes data more quickly than switches.
b. filtering can occur based on layer 3 information .
c. a router decrease the number of collision domains.
d. adding a router to the network decreases latency.
e. broadcasts are not forwarded across the router.

The answers are C and E. Shouldn't be B and E? As far as I know routers increase collision domains (as switches do).

Thanks in advance, I'll take my exam tomorrow.

Damn, these exams have A LOT of incorrect answers!!!! Here's another one that someone needs to confirm. Question 317.

Routers 2620 and 2521 need to be swapped, the Local Interface when doing a show CDP Neighbors does not match up with what has been placed in answer. The other two routers 2514 and 2501 are correct, but the 2620 and 2621 do NOT match up with their local interfaces. Please confirm this one as well.

Has nobody verified these exams, some have been out over year..

Question 319 regarding NAT, why is there only 3 answers out of 4? Shouldn't the PC_1 be the "NAT Inside Local"????? As CBT Nuggets and other resources states, the private IP address are NAT Inside Local so I don't understand if they forgot to drag the answer, or if it's supposed to be empty? Please confirm if that question is only supposed to have 3 answers. Thanks!!!

Hi guys!
I took the exam yesterday and passed with 964 points.
This dump is valid but about 80-85%. There are couple of new questions which does not appear on this dump.
If you want to pass I would highly recommend CBT Nuggets ICND1, the book from Todd Lammle for CCENT, 9tut.net section for ICND1 where all SIMS are valid and still appear on the exam and of course examcollection.com - very useful site and the best.
Now I am on way to ICND2!
Study Hard and Win Easy!
Good luck!
